“Helpful team, great spot to visit”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

Only had time for one night at this resort but had a great experience and customer service during my stay. Have to recommend all people I dealt with from the Security staff to the Manager on Duty and the Restaurant staff. Food was excellent and the proximity to the beach was very good (just across the road)

Room Tip: Next time I would ask for a room near the pool....

We loved it here! It was so clean and beautiful! The service was excellent and all of rooms were great. We stayed in all three rooms and they were all very clean, obviously the Pool View Room was huge and amazing. The pool was fantastic and the morning buffets were excellent. I would definitely stay here each time I visited Phuket!

Room Tip: I will come back again.

We spent 1 week at the resort in the bungalow type of rooms (3*). At the beginning there were some problems with the shower, pillows etc., but everything was sorted out quickly by the staff, who were very helpful and friendly.
Breakfast was good, although the breakfast room is outside and at 9 AM it was already so hot (almost to hot to eat). Even though hotel was quite full, there was no feel of crowds in the beach or in the hotel, except at breakfast. There is also quite a lot of mosquitos, but we had no problem with our 95% Deet repellent. Extra beach towels are also provided, what is a really nice touch.
There is a small street between the hotel and the beach, where you can find a lot of very pricy markets and affordable good dinner restaurants (all wooden barracks). No party all night kind of thing, everything was open until 10PM.
We always went to buy snacks&water in 7eleven a 20 minute walk away from the beach, because the markets at the beach were total rip of.
Btw: A lot of (more or less rude) Russians at the hotel.

I stayed at that hotel for 25 nights already (plus 6 nights to go) and can tell you everything about it in details..
1. Welcome fruit basket - consisted of three finger size baby bananas. Ayuh.
2. 'American breakfast' - the fact, that there was no cheese was disappointing. The staff is friendly but they never bring you clean cutlery or cup if you don't ask them to (they fail to put clean cutlery and cups on the table in 15 minutes after the previous guests have left). Also, finished bread and other bread product baskets were not refilled promptly.
3. Housekeeping - i saw a cockroach in the room and requested room change. They only agreed after I almost fought with them. Hsk was not cleaning the room properly ever after that. They were just changing the towels and putting water. Other amenities like shampoo, etc. were not provided every time too. The chairs outside on the small terrace were so dirty that I used up one pack of wet tissues to clean it. Also, a big bag stuffed other bags and with my laundry bag (clothes inside) disappeared from my room. I asked to talk to HSK and FO manager but they said that they have investigated the issue and no one from the housekeepers has seen it. (More details below)
3. Engineering - there are some details in the room that seem broken and you can't understand what they were initially for. Air conditioner remote is attached to the wall next to the door in my second room. So, you have to get up at night to control it. Also, yesterday night it just started working in the middle of the night and wakened me up. It was impossible to turn it off with the remote, because remote showed that it was off. In the bathroom, if you want to wash your legs, you will get wet all over.
4. IT - internet is paid everywhere except in the lobby area. I have paid for one month unlimited internet to use in the room. The connection was super slow in both rooms.
5. Staff - most of the staff doesn't speak English. Night shift at the front desk also don't speak english.

Regarding the bag that disappeared from my room.. Today, when I asked to see the hotel manager, reservations manager came instead. She was repeating what I have already heard from the staff and never apologized. I'm shocked because of the other thing though: when I said that I regret about my choice of accommodation, she just replied "ok, no problem, don't come back". Nai Yang Beach Resort is my worst experience.

We stayed here for 1 night on transit as it was near to the Phuket airport. Its decent, nothing terribly special. Service was so-so and didn't stand out. The room was clean and served its purpose for a one night transit stay.

The hotel in general but also the rooms have seen better times - a general renovation is truly needed. Rooms smell damp and bathrooms feel more like a youth hostel than a hotel. Water pressure is almost non-existing.
Nai Yang Beach is close to the Airport and offers some nice eateries along the stretch of beach. But the beach itself is not taken care off at all. When we were there it was full of garbage.
There are some sunbeds rented out but they also would need a good clean or replacement. Overall the impression of the hotel and the area was sad

For slightly over 30USD, this hotel is good value for an overnight stay in transit to the phuket airport. The location is right smack in the middle of the Naiyang beach strip of hotels and restaurants.

Rooms are reasonably clean and comfortable. There's even a tortoise enclosure with 5 big tortoises inside.

For me a big plus point is the taxi booking booth at the lobby. For a fixed fee of 200 baht one can get to the airport without haggling too much. I'm sure it's above the meter price but at least it's not as ridiculous as some of the taxi cartel prices.

Some cons:

wifi is only available in the lobby.

It is not 4 star as suggested, more like a once great 3 star.

The closet we were provided with smelled bad and looked somewhat dirty. We never used it.

The air con in the room is extremely noisy.
