L'esprit de Naiyang Resort
Ranked #7 of 9 Hotels in Nai Yang

The place is pretty well kept but the bathroom walls are non-existent with wood palings acting as a "privacy screen". Not much privacy given that anyone in the neighbouring villa or on the beach could watch me taking a crap. Not great. Water pressure meant a shower was unenjoyable and that the idea of having a bath was unequivocally impossible.

Train your staff in accepted service!!!! They wander around doing what I feel they "think" is right. It's painful to watch. It's sad because they all seem to be nice people.

Staff Training and some better privacy would make this place much better!

Naiyang is one of my favourite beaches in Phuket, it's 10 mins from the Airport, has a huge beach and less tourists then a lot of others.
I decided to stay at the L'esprit for a short re-charge weekend and I have nothing to negative to say about this place.
The Hotel upgraded me to a Villa with Pool Access, which was a nice bonus. The room was clean and tidy, although the bathroom / bath area has walls but huge open spaces around the sealing area, which benefits the Mosquitos and enhances any sounds you so happen to make.
The breakfast was nice and the Staff was very polite and food ordered from room service, came quickly and tasted good.
The hotel is back from the beach and you need to cross a small stream by using a raft type thing pulled by a hardworking man. This is stopped at about 10:00pm and you will need to pull yourself across if you’re late.
A few tips would be if you plan on having dinner out late, ask the guys how you can pull your way across and take the torch from the room! You need to walk through a lot of trees when it's dark and try and find the entrance for the raft, a lot of women may feel a little unsafe when heading back.
Overall a nice stay and hotel, I just didn't like the walk back at night.

Room Tip: Villa pool side is really nice

Travelled the world. Stayed at many places, but never been so negatively surprised.

Nai yang Beach itself is fab place to go that's not a question! We had some great fun out there.

BUT do yourself a favour and book somewhere else than L'Esprit.
We found out that all the negative reviews are actually true.

I'm sorry but it's an unorganised place where stuff complains at the bar/restaurants about 'that Thai person who runs it' (they own words) and wants to leave. And that shows!

when we had the chance to meet the owner/manager and wanted to make some suggestions, she actually denied she is an owner(?!)

If we had a chance to meet her one day again, would like to offer to pay for a night in 4 star resort to see what 4 starts actually look like:)

Probably would not have awarded low rating if I have not paid such a high season price due to end of the year stay. And I hope my comments and feedback is fair and to help this lovely establishment to improve themselves. During my stay here, security and privacy was a big concern. The villa was separated into 3 areas. Living room, bedroom and 3rdly, shower and bath area. 1stly, the shower/bath area was completely lack of privacy. I understand that they want you to experience the outdoor while showing however, there were not enough trees or bushes to hide you from doing your private business. 2ndly, there was a huge opening where a grown size man could climb into the toilet and then simply open the door into the bedroom. This could be solve if the hotel could add a lock to prevent anyone from entering the thru the bathroom and into the bedroom. The shower was lacking from any pressure so I experienced small drizzle for a few seconds...and then a rush of water for the next few seconds. Toilet cistern has a bit of problem during flushing as well.
Some of other issues will be the tattered towels and floor mats and the dipping pool was not really cleaned. The sunbathing area was on rotten wood floor and near to some sewage area.
I guess if I had paid a fraction of the cost, it will not bother me so much (but the security will!) But I hope the management will look into all these issues and please invest on repairs. The overall ambiance was quiet and relaxing. And I do appreciate that it was near to the airport.

Room Tip: Better to try to get the rooms near the villa pool.

It's a perfect place to have some rest, the swimming pool is just amazing (i'm a swimmer), the garden is beautiful, you are just near to the beach
(Thanks to the man - i forgot his name - who bring you to the beach with a little raft, he is from Myanmar, he always has a word in each language). Hope is savored the candies ;-)
Rooms are big, well decorated.
The resort is calm, in the jungle, no construction next to.
You can eat local food on the north of the beach.
Snorkeling, running, massage.

Enjoyed every minute yet again.

This time we stayed as a group of seven and everybody left with a smile on there faces.
Four of our party were upgraded to the pool room while the rest stayed in the sky deluxe rooms.

The rooms were clean spacious and well maintained.

like last time there is a issue with the consistency of the hot water sporadic at times.

Loved it.

One last comment they can improve on there breakfast options

We stayed at the hotel on Dec 22nd to, well Dec 22nd. We were suppose to checkout Dec 23rd but we didnt make it till then because we had to go to the hospital because we got severe food poisoning. We even had to pay for the food that gave us food poisoning, as well as the hospital transfer.
If that didnt happen, I would only book this hotel if you have to stay the night in Phuket because you have an early flight the next day. But this was by far the most horrific experience ever. I already emailed the manager in hope that we get our money back for this crazy stay, but still waiting for an answer...

We never have a food poisoning case from our serving food in our resort. Our staff annually get trained and educated from the FDA Department once a year. Definitely we are sure that we serve the hygiene food to the customers. Your sickness was happened after you was back from the beach and already check out. So we did not know that you get sick; otherwise we will send our representative to take care of you.
In some case in Phuket, most food posioning was from the food and drink (ice) from the restaurant at the beach which no any inspection of Food hygiene. They stored the raw materials on ice and can be contaminated bacteria. It is the customer's judgement to select outside restaurant on the beach.
Once again we are sorry to hear your sickness and we just know your sick from your comment in the Tripadvisor. Because you already checked out and none of our staff know that. Our priority is guest happiness and safety. We sincerely sorry for your unlucky.
Best regard, L'esprit de Naiyang
