OK so it looks pretty in the pics, and the village is mildly interesting. On the plus side the free leisure facilities make a stay worthwhile, the pool was a good 32 degrees and the jacuzzi was 38 - excellent - no scrimping here. Fine sauna and steam room.
The restaraunt must have been last decorated in the 70's when the style was popular, but it no longer is. The tableware is worn. The dinner prices were over the top, but then there is very little competition in the village - worth going the extra mile to Ripon or Harrogate.
The rooms were OK but again dated. Plenty of hot water.
Can't really think of a reason to stay here when York and Harrogate are so close.
