“Good but could have been better”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

Recently stayed at Tracy Park for NY's eve. Arrived on the 30th and were disappointed not to have been given the room we were assured we would get when we booked, however this was sorted out very quickly. However although our room was lovely (we booked one of the luxury rooms with 4 poster bed) the bathroom does let this room down somewhat.
Huge bathroom with bath and lovely shower but there is a window above the sink, between the bathroom and bedroom with a venetian blind which you could have pulled shut or open depending on the level or privacy you wish for, although even with the blinds shut you could still see through. There is a tiny mirror to the left of the window so when my husband was shaving he was having to shave away from the sink, dripping water onto the floor and then back and forth to the sink. Nitpicking you may say, but for the price of a luxury room, this was a major flaw which needs to be sorted out.
Bathroom aside, the hotel is lovely, the grounds are wonderful and we had a fabulous NY's eve with gala dinner and dancing. I was there with my husband and 8 friends and would definitely return. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Other members of our party had not chosen the luxury rooms and their rooms were just as nice. When we return we will pick one of these instead.
If the hotel had a spa and swimming pool as well as the golf course, it would be absolutely perfect but nonethless, looking forward to returning some time in the future.

Room Tip: The first luxury room we were given was lovely with no window in the bathroom so if you are after on...

Beautiful buildings marred by unsympathetic interior design making the place feel somewhat fake and cold. Our room size was good with a large super comfortable bed however the cleanliness was disappointing with mouldy grout in the shower and hairs in the bath.... There was also a lack of toiletries again disappointing considering this was a "luxury room". There was also a rather annoying green led above the fire escape that was overly bright meaning we had to cover it up to get to sleep. Its not all bad though. We did have a good nights sleep however, the restaurant served a very good meal and the staff were cheerful and attentive with a good attitude. Personally we wouldn't stay again as we were after a more traditional manor stay.

Beautiful building in parkland setting. Well situated , not far from Park & Ride for Bath and Bristol within easy reach. Accomodation excellent, especially the luxury 'Carriages' rooms.

The food was of top quality , with a good selection on the menu for the DBB option. All the staff were very friendly and obliging. We went for NYE and there was a great 5 course dinner followed by a disco. Also two 18 hole golf courses both set in parkland with lovely views from the Cromwell Course towards Bristol. Definitely a place to return to.

I stayed at Tracy Park this month with my fiancé and it was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The room was beautiful, the food was outstanding but most of all the customer service was out of this world. There was a lovely receptionist called Charlotte who went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable with our stay. She really did push the boat out to help us and she always had a smile on her face and we were both extremely grateful. Amazing time away. We will definitely be returning in the near future.

My wife and I spent acouple of nights at Tracy Park Hotel & Country Club. We were stunned by the magnificent approach to the hotel, which is surrounded by the golf courses. We thought our chalet styled room was wonderful until the house keeper showed us the latest, refurbished rooms, with deep mahogany wood, immaculately laid out and completed by beautiful four poster beds. The decor throughout the hotel is tasteful, well thought out and delicately planned.

The bar and restaurant continues to please the eye in every way. The icing on the cake was that the food mached the hotels excellence and so did every member of the staff, who were smart, polite and extremely informative about this fascinating hotel and its most interesting history,

Our ONLY dissapointment? ......Yes...we couldn't get booked in for Christmas. Pay a visit and you'll find out why that is. Who ever did this must be in love with the place, as we are.

Room Tip: All the rooms are lovely but next time we'll go for the latest 4 poster bed rooms

Stayed here in early December when visiting Bath Christmas market. Our work commitments mreant we could only stay 1 night but wished we could have made it 2 or 3. Having selected the hotel from Trip Advisor and other sites we were initially frustrated at being unable to get hold of the reception staff. We left a message but did not get a call back so called the next day. It seems their voiicemail servivce is not reliable. I was wondering if we had made the wrong choice but was reassured by the very helpful response it got. We were unsure if our granddaughter would be with us at first but they reassured us the room would be big enough for a cot and said they would provide this. We obtained a great deal for the two of us including full breakfast and 2 course evening meal. We stayed in one of the courtyard rooms which was very spacious. We had our 2 year old granddaughter with us and the staff were very accommodating. They provided a cot (free of charge), and a highchair in the restaurant. No charge was made for her other than for the evening meal she ate.
The room was large with a seating area, shower room, and dressing area. The room had 2 televisions with the larger in the bedroom area and the other to watch from the settee.
Whilst there was one minor flaw which the maintenance team needed to resolve the next day it did not detract from our enjoyment. Having run a hotel ourselves in the past and currently restaurant owners we appreciated that the evening meal package included the normal restaurant menu and not just a dumbed down version. I had a steak and my wife a lamb dish. My wifes meal did need a side order to complete a balanced meal - something that always annoys meal but the food was very good and bar prices fair. The waitress was excellent with my granddaughter.
Although we did not use the golf facilities it was a pleasure to stay somewhere set in such extensive grounds with covenient and free parking. It was well worth the short drive out of Bath. Will we visit again - Yes and hopefully whilst they stuill have such a good Winter deal on.

We spent one night here during a mid-week mini tour around some old haunts. Golf was not the reason that we chose Tracy Park - it was simply that we wanted to stay somewhere within easy reach of Bath. We were allocated room 22 which is located in a converted stable block and the initial impression was good - decent sized bed (albeit a bit soft for my liking), big TV, good-sized bathroom, free WiFi and all the usual facilities. Upon closer examination however, the bathroom proved to be a bit disappointing - the floor tiles have narrow grooves and an open texture that encourages the retention of unpleasant-looking stains and there was water leaking from the back of the toilet bowl (this was reported to reception upon departure and may have been repaired by now). Also, we struggled a bit with the heating in the main room - the aircon unit being rather tempremental. We had a reasonable nights sleep although the shared entrance area meant that we were woken up when the next-door guest arrived back some time after midnight and the fire door closed with a bang. The upside was the food. We had our evening meal in the slightly quirky dining room (very masonic decor) and were very happy with the quality of both the food and the service, although it was very quite as many of the guests had gone into Bath for the Christmas market. We also enjoyed the breakfast which was buffet-style and catered for all tastes. Overall, we would certainly make a return visit if in the area, but we would want a different room. PS Beware the door to the reception area - I am sporting a bruised finger from closing the door whilst leaving the building due to the door knob being located too close to the door frame - a door handle would solve this problem.
