Auld Reekie Lodge
Reviewed March 27, 2013

I had been to Auld Reekie back in March of 2005 on a snowmobile trip while the resort was under different management. The experience then was very good, however the current owners Urs and Dianne (and family) have stepped up the experience 10-fold. My friend and I came up from Kitchener, and even though the snowmobiling was good around Southern Ontario this year, we were very glad we made the trip. The trails were excellent and the hospitality superb. Everyone else on Trip Advisor comments on the excellent dining experience and I will validate that the food is tremendous. The rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. We plan on coming back next year with a larger group of friends and renting out one of the larger cottages. Thanks again - Shawn Little

With record cold temperatures my son and I arrived in the dark on snowmobiles - pretty much frozen. Will never forget how warm their fireplace and welcome was. Wonderful family - all working together and enjoying life . Thanks all for the badly needed help!

After a night away we just had to return when they found a spot for us. The second visit was even better - tremendous food and the rooms are among the best on the snowmobile trail. Everyone should try the place out!

(They even have a rack for snowmobile gear beside the stove in the dining room...)

I have been going to this resort every winter for past 5 years and it keeps improving each year. We make this a regular stop on our yearly snowmobile trip. The great cabins, excellent food and friendly atmosphere make for a enjoyable stay. The snowmobile package is a great value. Urs and Diane (and their family) are very accommadating. The only complaint would be too much food served on the plate but I manage to eat all, it as it so delicious. Looking forward to our stay next year!!!

The hosts (including their kids) were awesome The wood fired sauna was fired up when we arrived to warm us up and the hot tub was big enough for all of us when it was time to wind down
The food was truley amazing and the helpings were unbelievable
The cabin was big enough for 6 men and our gear. It was warm, comfortable, and clean
Cant wait for our next visit

This was my first time here on a snowmobiling trip this winter. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home from Dianne and Urs. The are great hosts and always willing to help whenever they can. They took time out to sit with us and plan some of the best trails to go on. The meals were fantastic and all of the staff were very friendly. We will definitely be going back again this winter and will try and get up there this summer for some fishing. Just a fantastic time all around!
