I have read all of the bad reviews, before and after going and i simply do not understand them.
The three complaints that are consistently (in the 3-4 bad reviews) made are that:
- the food is represented as much better than it is;
- everything is covered with the same sauce; and
- that the service is poor.
These are simply untrue. The food is all locally produced. All of the antipasto, from cheese, through ricotta, ham, pickled vegetables, focaccia etc. are all home-made. How can one complain about that? The wine (free with the meal) is from the area. All of the dishes are different. We had three pasta dishes, two of which had pomodoro sauce and one of which had a sauce from dried tomatoes and herbs. The meat dishes were excellent, as were the fresh cannoli and melon.
This is an authentic agrotourism experience. Those who do not realise how good it is, do not understand agrotourism. Note that in the same "bad" reviews were complaints about it being difficult to find, credit cards not being accepted and that they did not get anything free/extra. At 16 euro for four generous courses, what do they want extra? Accolades to TripAdvisor for printing the hopeless reviews with the good ones so that everyone can make their own judgment.
I would certainly return to this friendly restaurant for the excellent food. This is the type of place that I came to Sicily for.
