We had reserved an executive room with cot for 2 nights to stay for my sisters wedding close by. There was a big mix up with our room and we eventually got a room with a cot. Every other member of our party also had a room mix up including the bride to be! This took hours to sort out and all the other customers we overheard also had similar problems.
There was a big function on in the hotel and the noise went on into the early hours of the morning preventing any chance of sleep.
The second morning we went for breakfast and after someone took the highchair at the table away as we were sitting down to clean it we were told, after a long wait, it had been given to another table and they didn't have any more.
The staff all seemed to be new and clueless, the beer was expensive (but what can be expected) but the rooms were ok if you were on a business trip.

My wife and I booked a couple of days away as we got married the Saturday before and had some freedom from the kids for 2 days.
We were a bit concerned about some of the reviews for this hotel.
But were very suprised how quiet and restful it was.
All the staff from cleaners to reception were extremely helpful and friendly.
In fact I have to give a special mention to Manager Ryan Nicholls who after finding us wondering lost coming back from our intial check in upgraded us to the suite after learning we were newlyweds.
Even when the hotel got busy(a coachload of chinese people arrived the second day) things were organised and calm.
Even without the deal we got we would go again.

Myself and my partner stayed here for 4 nights, we got a fairly good deal but feel somewhat cheated by the pictures we viewed on the hotels website beforehand. Although the hotel was clean and comfortable this was definitely not a 4* hotel and the pictures do mislead you, especially the look of the pool area. Do not be fooled!

Breakfast was also rather disappointing, they ran out of things quickly and it took a while to replace what was gone. The lady at the breakfast front desk however was very polite and friendly.

If you are going in the sauna be warned as we felt it was too hot for the size of the room! It is also not even at the pool area but next to the changing rooms!

Although i have mentioned several bad points the good points are that it was still a nice break away and the room/hotel was clean, just not what we expected and it should not be a 4* hotel.

We were in an executive room 11,a pump of some kind starts up and continuously switches on and off from about 6:30 in the morning maybe it's on a timer or when guests turn the taps on but it is a nuisance even on a Sunday so take earplugs if you want a lay in On the other hand waking early is a good thing there because try have a shower after 7:30am there is no hot water and the water pressure is down to a trickle coming out of the shower head,. We arrived on Friday of the last bank holiday there was a coffee area but not actually set up to use although we did notice as we were leaving that you could get coffee there, too late for us though! It's a large place with loads of potential but with absolutely nothing going for it. We found a bar' and waited about 20minutes for someone to appear to serve us, a lady in front of us asked for an Irish coffee but was told he could only bring her a filter coffee from the restaurant she wasn't amused and told him not to bother. I needed an ice bucket for the wine the barman had to go search for one which took another 20 minutes. Breakfast is mediocre, definitely won't be returning and would not pay full tariff.

We got a deal here off Travelzoo which was an absolute bargain. Yes from the outside it looks a bit like a nursing home but I do feel a lot of reviews on here are unfair. The rooms are very clean if a bit basic but there is tea making, a trouser press and a hairdryer so it ticks the boxes. I do agree the beds are soft though.
The pool and jacuzzi are great and they supply towels so it was nice to spend a few hours there. Breakfast was lovely, no queues despite there being a wedding at the hotel both nights we stayed. The buffet was constantly replenished, the tables were clean and very large and the staff could not have been friendlier.
We did book ahead for dinner in the pub opposite called 'The Chequers Inn'. This was fabulous and the food was simply delicious - I couldn't recommend it enough.
Overall the hotel is 7 miles out of Stratford so a little out of the way but for the price we paid it was fine and suited our needs perfectly.

Just returned from a fantastic 3 night break. Could not fault this hotel in any way. Rooms were spotless, food great and staff really friendly. Will be returning pretty soon. Kelly.

The hotel was so poor we checked in and checked out straight away. This is not a hotel for the leisure traveler, and whilst the rooms are ample and clean, the venue is only geared up for conferences.

The photos on the website are so misleading they might as well be referring to another hotel. In particular, the so called 'Orangery' evokes images of a quaint, relaxing conservatory which actually turns out to be a windowless dingy void with dated wallpaper squeezed in between yet more meeting rooms.

As opposed to a 4 star hotel, I would rate this venue on the same level as a Premier Travel Inn; in fact we were quite surprised we didn't run into Alan Partridge during our 10 minutes at the hotel, as this 'venue' has more in common with the Linton Travel Tavern than an 'Inspirational Hotel'.
