“Great food, very good service”
Reviewed May 26, 2013

Good tasting food, drink. Fast, friendly service and good ambience. Specially nice for us was the non-alcoholic drinks, which we had a few of and also the spicy chicken and rice. Highly recommended Mexican street food.

“Great fresh food. Excellent value”
Reviewed May 26, 2013 via mobile

Went there for my birthday as I love Mexican food. It was fantastic value they even let us try a dish for free. The five pounds kids menu would have been enough even for adults. Our waitress couldn't do enough for us and as it was my birthday we were given free churros with toffee and chocolate sauce . My 7 and 10 year olds now want to come for their birthday.
We will be back soon.

Was tempted to try something different and went for it before the movie starts and was quite disappointed with the borritos which doesn't quite compare to when I went to America.Cheap but not cheerful.

“Well worth stopping by”

Anyone who's visited Bluewater to eat near the cinema will be familiar with the long queue for Nando's, which has always been one if the most popular spots to eat. This trip however, there was a new kid in town and a noticeably shorter line for its more established rival next door.

You're greeted and allocated a table when one becomes available. The decor is basic but novel, with one seating area being inside a modified VW camper van. Above us, hundreds of recycled plastic bottles stuck into a grid form the ceiling. It's table service so you don't have to queue to place your order. Also, you're not rushed through your meal so you can spend as little or as long as you like.

Wahaca's format is simple - it brings a small selection of dishes based on Mexican street food to the UK. No chilli con carne here! Starters include the predictable tortillas & dips but we tried the pork scratchings with guacamole dip, which were light, crunchy and seasoned beautifully with fennel. The light snacks are just that, so order a couple of sides if you're hungry. The main plates are filing and you don't need extras unless you're a big eater. The Pork Pibil is delicious and the meat is tender and moist - yum. You can get this in a burrito too.

The drinks menu heavily features Tequilla in many shapes and forms - didn't try so can't comment on this. Desserts are really nice and we tried a variety - all of which I would have been happy with - I picked Chocolate Tres Leche Cake with peanut Butter Ice Cream and was not disappointed.

We shared the starter between 3 of us, and each had a main, dessert and 2 soft drinks or coffees and the bill came to £57. This is definitely a chain that should spread it's wings outside the London area and quickly!
