Owner description: Since Bluewater opened its doors on March 16, 1999, it has set the benchmark for the ultimate shopping and leisure experience and the rest as they say is retail history. Rising out of a former chalk quarry among 50 metre-high cliffs, Bluewater's striking architecture is simply unique. Located in Kent, traditionally known as the Garden of England, our overall site of 240 acres is surrounded by a 50 acre landscape of lakes, parkland and trees making it the perfect place for the whole family to enjoy. We have 300 stores, over 50 bars, restaurants and cafes along with 13,000 free car parking spaces attracting 28.1 Million visitors per annum. As well as offering a wide range of services, our team will endeavour to ensure that your Bluewater experience is fun, memorable and exciting. Bluewater's triangular design with a flagship store at each point - Marks & Spencer, John Lewis and House of Fraser - over two levels make shopping a breeze. In between the flagship stores are three distinct shopping malls boasting stylish stores along with restaurants, cafes and bars catering to every taste.

There are so many shops there really is something for everyone. There are more upmarket shops such as All Saints, Hobbs, Ted Baker, Massimp Dutti, and Diesel. And also lots of high street favourites like Next, New Look, Gap, and Superdrug. There also lots of the typical big stores, the shopping centre is shaped like a triangle and spread over 2 floors - with M&S, House of Fraser, and John Lewis taking up the space on each point of the triangle. Also worth checking out the small pop up stalls they have in the middle of the concourse, there are often great one off items and there's always an opportunity to haggle! Lots of eateries; the food court for those on more of a budget and more upmarket restaurants including Browns in the newly refurbished 'Glow' area by the cinema. Speaking of which, the cinema is huge and has showings on constantly from 10am through to 1am. Easy to access both by public transport and by car and well worth a visit for a relaxing day of retail therapy.

Visited there in October, arrived early on a Saturday, found it easy to park. Very easy to shop as it is a circle with 2 floors. Numerous shops in the centre so easy to shop around. Not as busy in the morning but as midday approach it got busier. Loads of places to eat. Easily accessible off the M25, but Lakeside is closer to where I live, with more of the same shops and not having to use the Dartford Crossing and having to pay the Toll. Worth the visit but will not be going back there for a while.

I was told that the crowds have 'dropped off' a little at Bluewater since the Westfield at Stratford opened and I was pleasantly surprised that they had ! This means Bluewater is easier to walk around, feels relaxed and because of the great communication links i.e. just off the M2, M25 and Dartford Tunnel we reached there in just 20 minutes from South London.

Easy to park - plenty of shops to choose from. Restaurants offered good choice and reasonable prices.
