Llanhedrick House is a couple of miles north of Clun and four miles south of Bishops Castle in wonderful countryside close to the Shropshire Way. It is quiet and peaceful with the kind of natural environment which has disappeared elsewhere. There is much of historical interest nearby - the medieval Stokesay Castle and the town of Ludlow with its great norman castle and old town. The house itself is old but modernised in a way which respects its past. The bedrooms are all of a generous size, there is a large modern kitchen, different games rooms, and dining facilities for a large group. There are large garden areas, beautifully maintained. We had a group of ten adults and seven children for several nights without feeling overcrowded. Elaine and her family are helpful and friendly hosts and have developed a special place. This was our second stay at Llanhedrick - both experiences have been excellent
We booked to stay at Llanhedric House for my 40th birthday, my father in laws 65th birthday and my sons 6th birthday. As a group of 15 we were well catered for. We were met on arrival by the owner, Elaine who was lovely. The house has everything you need for a fun and relaxing weekend. The gardens were well kept and with the outdoor games provided, the children had hours of fun. The 2 games room kept us all well entertained through the evenings too. Everything is provided from towels to cutlery. The house is located in a beautiful setting. It was beautiful waking up and taking in the view of the countryside. Highly recommended and we will certainty be returning.
This was a family gathering to celebrate a 70th and 40th birthday and just share time together. Despite the eccentric British weather (Easter egg hunt in the garden in the sun on Easter Sunday and snowman building in the garden on Easter Monday!) our stay in Llanhedric House was much enjoyed by us all.
The two wood burning stoves were a great asset and kept the teenage boys busy, as did the Poole and table tennis tennis tables. All the rooms are a generous size with the view from the front of the house, especially from upstairs, being exceptional. I claimed the wide landing window sill as my window seat; it was a very special spot for me.
The large well equipped kitchen made a great gathering, cooking and artistic creations space (the latter by the younger members of the party).
We appreciated having the Shropshire Way on our doorstep and also the proximity to the Long Mynd which is a favorite place of mine. Again, we were blessed with a mild, clear day when we walked here; the gliders were fun to watch and we felt we could see forever. Ludlow is a delightful town with its castle to explore and attractive buildings plus an excellent swimming pool. Ironbridge is the best area for museums galore and the younger members of our group really appreciated our immersion in the Victorian Town here (the Bliss Victorian Museum).
A great week, knowing that we had the comfort of Llanhedric House to return to in the evenings.
We decided to book Llanhedric House for a special weekend celebrating Nannas 90th birthday. There was 14 of us ranging from 10 to 90. The kids were well entertained in the games room and garage. The men kept busy with 2 log fires and the women relaxed and chatted. The house is lovely and very clean with every bedroom being spacious. Amenities were great you only need to take yourself as everything was thought of and in one of the many cupboards.
We have just spent the most fabulous week in what one of our youngest family members has named ‘The Christmas House’. This was our second visit to Llanhedric House, and we spent the week talking, laughing, eating, drinking and generally having a brilliant time in this most welcoming, spacious yet cosy 100% wonderful space. Lots of walks too, even had some snow, which made the spectacular countryside even more beautiful. The House is so comfortable and well-equipped. Catering was a pleasure in the huge kitchen and there’s lots of fridge and freezer space as well as plenty of crockery and cutlery, pots, pans etc. Great to have the sofa in the kitchen plus a big table, in addition to the gorgeous dining room which is now decorated a festive red! We had a supermarket shop delivered and topped up from the local shops. The huge living room came into its own for our party of 14, ages ranging from 6 months to 85 years! Really appreciated the warmth of Elaine’s welcome and all the lovely Christmas decorations - and the delicious Welcome Hamper with homemade mince pies and preserves and a bottle of mulled wine.
One of the special things about this house is that every single bedroom is a good size, and the beds are really comfy. Lots of big houses have a couple of decent bedrooms but the rest are bunk beds etc. Not Llanhedric House - every bedroom has special features and the three bathrooms mean there are no queues.
We have so many happy memories of ‘The Christmas House’ and will definitely be back. Many thanks and a very happy new year to Elaine and family.
Well appointed farmhouse in a lovely location with great views across the countryside. A little outside Clun. Had everything we needed. Including beds for everyone in our girls party of 12 plus a log burning stove! Cosy & comfortable with great walks & cycle rides nearby. Just wish we could have stayed longer.
WHat an amazing place !
Two large families got together and had the best weekend ever.
We wanted for nothing in this gorgeous house.
The games rooms were in constant use.
The owner is incredibly welcoming and we really appreciated the welcome hamper.
Would not hesitate to recommend this spacious house.
