Situated in a small beautiful village in the Haute Vienne region of the Limousin- truly rural but with plenty to see in the area-Limoges, Oradour, hills and lakes.Ideal for a few days - if you would prefer not to drive down fly direct to Limoges(Ryanair Flybe) hire a car 40minutes drive-voila. A lovely ancient convent with spacious rooms, all with a shower room and toilet en-suite, run by Ray Thomas, an Englishman who has lived in France for nearly 20years. Residents can have an evening meal in the chacterful dining room with log fires in colder weather. Nochoice menu and therefore advise Ray of allergies and dislikes beforehand. For 18euros you have an apero(on the lawn outside in good weather) starter, main course, cheese, desert, coffee, and a bottle of wine!(2011) Ray is a very talented cook - signature dishes include an amazing omelette confit de canard en-croute and a few more. In addition he ensures that the convent exudes an air of friendliness which soon leads to people of different nationalities talking together and if you are lucky you will meet Neil and Mollie the dog!
