We visited this place since Cava Grande dell Cassible was closed due to recent fires. And aren't we glad we did!!! This is a gem of a place nestled deep into the valley where pristine waters flow from the mountains creating picturesque scenery complete with waterfalls and lakes. It requires a longish walk (around 30 mins) from the entrance to encounter the lakes but once there you are left to explore at your heart's content. Take good walking shoes, your swimming gear and a packed lunch as you are literally in the middle of nowhere - just peaceful paradise! Oh and don't forget your camera - it is truly wonderful!
