Picked this resort for its location
Right in the heart of Kata
The local bus stop is right across the road
Our room is average size but fresh, modern and bright
2 water, 1orange,1 beer and a snickers Bar provided everyday.
Towels changed everyday, shampoo and body wash provided in the shower, water pressure good
Breakfast is great a very good selection. Something to suit every taste. Goed from 6.30a. till 10.30am
If l have one whing it would have to be the toaster, its SO SLOW and only 2 out of the 4 slots work. Time to replace it.
Pool has a spa attached to it
Even though you are in the heart of town being set back down the dead end street makes it really quite
Would l return? Yes, staff good and really value for money

Located very well with amazing massage place Taylor and tattoo shop but that's all this place has going for it. Bookings.com made a mistake and we ended up having to move rooms 3 times, due to 1) pool room but not incl breakfast. 2) room 2 incl breakfast the Aircon stopped working so we had to move at 2:30am to another room to sleep. 3) no hot water, toilet button stuck. Reception staff very unhelpful and unfriendly. We're stopped at 8pm to go swimming but every night since people have been swimming till 2am. Rather pay a little more, now we know for next time.

Our booking was very last minute. At under $60 per room per night, we weren't expecting much - but we were very pleasantly surprised.
Rooms are big and clean. Beds are very comfy and king size.
The pool area was smallish, but since the hotel is about 2 minutes from a stunning beach we didn't spend much time around the pool so not an issue for us.
The bizzarly located saunas (you have to swim to them) were confusing, but since they were closed and seemed to be in the middle of renovation, again, not an issue.
The free minibar which was replenished daily was a nice treat. Which other hotel provides a daily free beer?
Although the resort is relatively new, the bathroom was beginning to show wear with some stained grouting and rusting tapwear, but I've come to expect this in Asia. Bodywash and shapoo were provided, conditioner was not. Toiletries like soap and shower caps were replenished - sometimes.
Pool towels could be exchanged for clean dry ones at any time at reception.
Decor was simple and subued. The curtains were effective at keeping out the light in the mornings.
The location was great, with shops, bars, massage spots, minibars, street food vendors and restaurants all within a 2 minute walk.
There was free parking available, but the limited space meant that cars and bikes had to be parked in front of each other - a bit of a nuisance if you don't want to leave your keys at the front desk.
My only complaint was that when I asked at the front desk for contact details of a doctor when one of our party became ill, all I was given was a business card of a tourist clinic in Patong (presumably some sort of kickback arrangement was in place) and I had to use other means to find a local doctor in Kata.
We were happy with our stay at the Sugar Marina Fashion, for the price. I'm not sure I would pay top 'high season' rates to stay there, though.

Room tip: Pool access rooms are very close to the poolside and loungers so could be noisy. They also lack privacy unless curtains are closed.

1.Location- 4.5/5
2.Cleanliness- 1.5/5 (super smelly, and sticky?! Wtf?! & the gym is worse)
3.Customer service- 0/5 (so rude; and if they can't even say hi or even smile, then quit/ get fired; because these staffs only made our experience in Thailand a lot worse.

AND NO SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER?!
WOW!!!

If seriously all other hotels are fully booked, then all I can say is that don't let the customer service ruin your stay, ignore them as much as possible.
or the horrible smell in the rooms.

OH, wifi! Don't expect anything smooth or fast with the wifi.

Can't wait to leave!

We stayed here on the last 3 days of our trip after moving from Patong. This hotel was situated in the heart of Kata just 2 minute walk from the beach and the beachfront markets that is on each night. It was a close walk to everything from massage parlours, desserts, 711, restaurants and bars. We loved the area but also the fact that we had a swim-up room. We were able to conveniently walk out of our room and have a dip in the pool without needing to go out and around to the main pool. The one thing I would say was negative about my experience was the first night there was a family with a baby next door and the lady was quite loud in the morning yelling at her child and the child crying. We requested for a swim-up room further away from them the next day and the hotel instantly accommodated for us and moved us into a spare room. The room was huge compared to other rooms you can get for this price in Patong/Kata/Karon. It had a huge bed and even had a couch in there and still had room. Tv was decent sized and bathroom was average. The pool was not as big as I thought it would be but it still accommodated to us as the pool was never full/packed with people. We didn't have the breakfast at the hotel since we wanted street food everyday :) Hotel was fairly priced for the type of room that we stayed in.

Would come back.

Room tip: swim-up pool, big rooms
