We stayed here 35 nights altogether from late October through Dec., 2012. This was our third season visiting this hotel. As the name implies we keep coming back!

Many things continually get better - the breakfast each stay has improved with variety and overall quality, a nice plus. The grounds are truly beautiful and require a lot of work to keep it and improve on it, they are doing a great job. Once again we left luggage behind in between visits at the Boomerang when we travelled to Bali and then Chiang Mai before returning to Phuket. Friendliness of the staff was very enjoyable for us definately. Being on the outskirts of Kata area with the jungle behind is very neat, and much quieter then down below. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the beach which for us is quite easy and the hill is no problem on the way back.

A few things not quite as good as before, hence the 4 star rating as compared to previous of 5. We were in 4 different rooms this time and in one of them the bed was really worn out........another one it wasn't as bad but should not be in a hotel, imo. A few days our room wasn't cleaned till between 6 and a bit after 7 PM but we understand they were getting staff changes and were short workers for a bit - which wasn't a big deal by any means but thought it should be noted as this is a review.

Kata Beach is our favourite beach out of all the different places we have gone.

We stayed at Boomerang for 6 nights and could not have asked for anything more. The service of the staff there was fantastic and they made you feel right at home. The location is quite good - its only a 15 min walk to Kata beach - the hotel has a free shuttle service there aswell. The hotel is close to many restaurants and bars. The hill is not that bad - we were worried as we heard many people complaining of it but it is seriously a 1-2 minute walk too the top. Will come back!

Room Tip: Book a deluxe over superior, better bathroom, views, higher ceiling for air circulation

We stayed at the BVR for a week in December and couldn't fault it. It is a little bit back from the main beach strip and up a fairly steep hill but this didn't put us off. We walked up and down to the beach strip at night and its a fairly easy 15 minute stroll with lots of thai kitchens and bars to entertain you on the way. The hill is steep, there's no denying that, but it's over in a couple of minutes and that's your exercise done for the day! Might be a bit more difficult if you have young children but the hotel offers a free shuttle to the beach and a taxi service for the strip at night for about 100 bahts if I remember rightly. The rooms, pool and grounds of this hotel are absolutely beautiful, instead of going to the beach we ended up staying at the pool most of the time, something that we don't usually do but it was just so peaceful and relaxing that we really enjoyed it. Restaurant is great too, with lovely staff and a good buffet selection. We didn't eat lunch or dinner at the hotel, we took a stroll down to the main road where there were plenty of thai kitchens to choose from which are so cheap and so good. We booked the private transfers for the ferry and the airport, a good price and a great service, beats being crammed into the minibus any day. We would definitely go back to BVR, just loved it!

My Husband and I stayed here over Christmas for 3 nights. The staff were friendly and helpful and work such long hours to ensure their guests are well catered for. On Christmas Day they even left presents on the reception Christmas tree for all the rooms! A lovely touch. The room was large, clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The breakfast was a good selection and the little restaurant peaceful and airy. The pool area was small, but again relaxing and beautifully kept. The hotel is located at the top of a hill up behind Kata village & the beach. We walked to the beach one day which took about 25mins (slow pace). The beach is beautiful, one of our favourites in phuket. The village is also lovely - laid back with some nice restaurants and a few bars. All very low key and family/couple orientated but still plenty to do & well placed to get out and about. We used the hotel taxi service to get to the village each evening which was 100baht or 200 if going to Kata Noi etc. We also hired a car from the hotel which was fairly reasonable. This is the perfect hotel if you like to have a nice boutique/small & friendly hotel(rather than the big family ones), in a peaceful location that is still close enough to access everything. Plus the price is so reasonable for the high standard you get! All in all, we had a lovely time here and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Room Tip: Request a room on the hillside (garden room?) for lovely views.

The property is a little out of the way - just up the hill from Kata Beach - but this wasn't necessarily a bad thing. The property was a tranquil haven being above the noise of the town and had fantastic sunset views from the pool deck. They have a free shuttle to the beach and a driver that can take you anywhere you need for very cheap. And if you want to walk it's close enough to the ATM and shopping, although the last bit uphill will give you a little workout. The rooms are beautiful and spacious, and we loved the staff. They were very eager to make our stay enjoyable. They will help you book activities, restaurant reservations, whatever you need, and they were happy to store our luggage on our last day until we were ready to leave. The restaurant and bar service was a little slow, but we kind of expect that in places with a laid back vibe. They were very accommodating to start putting out the breakfast buffet a little early for us as we were usually headed out for one activity or another by 7:30 am. Food was tasty and reasonably priced, they offered free wi-fi, and we loved the pool. It was never very crowded around the pool and it was actually heated! We would absolutely return to this property.

Room Tip: If you hate the rock hard mattresses you usually find in Asian hotels, spring for one of the suites...

OK, so this place may be far from the beach, but that's ok. They offer a free shuttle, and even have a slice of Kata beach for themselves. Also the resort has amazing buffet breakfast, a heated pool, great views, amazing rooms, and fantastic staff. There is also free wifi, and free computers and printing. This place is a little more expensive but totally worth it. Tip: when leaving, hire your own taxi to where-ever you are going next, because the hotel taxis are quite pricy.

We took a family trip to Phuket in September 2012 and decided to stay at Boomerang after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor. This is a great boutique resort and it great for lounging around after a full day on the beach. The staffs are very accommodative and I love the stretch of beach that Boomerang took us to (apparently each hotels have their own stretch of beach).

The "Boomerang zone" on the beach is very clean and quiet with nice clean white sand, unlike some of the other areas of the Kata beach which was very packed. There was also umbrellas, seats for rent, food and drinks for a small price.

Boomerang is quite a walk away from the beach. If you do ride a bike, is it only about 5-10 minutes away. In a way, I felt that Boomerang's hill top location is actually a plus point. The greenary around is lovely and as we have to pass by some local stores on our way back to the resort from the beach, we also have immediate access to local food and laundry at local prices. There are also some seamstress at the foot of the hill on your way down from Boomerang and they provide some quick sewing/ tailoring services at an amazing price too.

We will definitely stay here again for our next trip.
