“Superb quality with wonderful views”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

This hotel is in fact a series of individual apartments overlooking the ocean. The apartments vary in size and location, within the property, but the smallest is very large and very nicely presented. There are all the facilities one would expect for a 5* property.
The food is excellent, varied and beautifully presented. Not expensive. The outlook from the dining area is spectacular.
There are a number of pools together with upmarket sun loungers and pool boys to look after you every wish, if you feel lazy. For those who are able to stagger in from the sun to the Spa they will find some young ladies waiting to give a very relaxing and rejuvenating massage. This is an upmarket offering and you will be pampered.
The General Manager (actually the Managing Director) is a jovial chap called Mike and is always available if there is a problem. He runs a very efficient operation in a low key sort of way and can be seen daily chatting to guests and generally being available. Very reassuring.

Room Tip: Ask for one with sea view. It may not be the cheapest but it will be spectacular.

Booked this hotel last minute for the Chinese New Year aka "high season" - paid the price but for me was worth every bat paid - just for the view. Was travelling solo - but everything at the hotel was just excellent - pool staff was adorable providing towels and unlimited cold water, breakfast choice was diverse ranging for all tastes, and reception staff was helpful and very friendly. Room was perfect - huge size for a single traveller - walk in shower, tough bed, coded safe, good aircon - waking up to the view of Kata beach was the cherry on top. Gym is located right next to the pool and has all the necessary equipement. Hotel is located in close proximity to Kata beach and town 10 min slow walk - you can indulge in some holiday shopping, a massage by the beach and sunbathing very easily - just beware you will be working those calf muscles when walking back uphill! Would recommend getting a tuk tuk to the kata noi beach which is less crowded and more private. Only downside - maybe a plus for larger families - rooms are interconnected with locked doors in between - this means not really soundproof - having arrived past midnight on my first night I was greeted in the early hours by couple shouting next door at 3 am - not the ideal start when hoping for a R&R holiday. Will definitly recommend this hotel for couples and families - excellent romantic getaway and great services.

Great rooms, great views, hard beds, good breakfast .Enjoyed a 2 beadroom apartment large enough to hold a ball in ,the pool was a reasonable size and the view over kata beach was amazing .I would not recommend using the track from the hotel to the beach ,it is very rough to the point of being dangerous , with a sign noting no reponsability by the hotel if you use it. Go via the road instead, although the hill leading up to the Aspasia is very steep

We spent eight days at The Aspasia and found no real problems. Wonderful staff and an excellent service was offered.

Set above the end of Kata Beach the hotel has beautiful views of the forest below, the lagoon & beach as well as the other side of the bay. It is extremely peaceful and tranquil. Well equipped spacious rooms with air-conditioning and full length sliding picture windows. Their are two pools with shade and brolleys. Iced water is delivered throughout the day whilst you enjoy the sunbeds. The hotel is extremely clean and well maintained. Breakfast is supplied and is diverse and excellent.

A short walk down through the jungle which can be a little treacherous if you are not careful on your feet, and across the lagoon river to the wonderful beach. Beach beds and brolley for two is 200 BHT (£4) per day. Beach shack cafe offers water, coffee and food if you want it.

The beach is sandy and gently slopes to the sea which was warm. Boat taxi's available if you wish to travel to another beach or islands. It also offers the usual beach sports about 5 minutes along the beach. Scuba diving is offered off the beach but I am not sure if a reef exists but a small island is located around 1/2 mile off the beach that may offer good diving.

The hotel is at the top of the hill overlooking the beach and the town is around a ten minute walk down. It offers a wealth of restaurants for all tastes and pockets ranging from 500 - 3,000 BHT for two. For those that do not wish to climb back up the hill then a 'tuk-tuk' can be acquired for 100 BHT. The hotel offered a very good set menu for around 1000 BHT per person.

Near-bye is 'Big Budda' and 'temples' that are wonderful to visit. Numerous day trips are available that include trips to Phuket Town, Phi Phi Island - The venue for the film with Leonardo De Caprio - The Island, Speed boat tours and Island tours.

We had some minor problems with the air-conditioning but the staff are really helpful and want to make your stay fabulous. Service was fantastic.

All in all, we really enjoyed the peaceful and relaxing week we spent at the Aspasia. If you want a relaxing holiday in a beautifully quiet and scenic environment, then we cannot recommend a better hotel and location.

Room Tip: The upper rooms have the best views but further from the amenities.

We booked this hotel around Easter 2012 and it was quite pricey. We had a kitchen, longe room, bedroom and very large bathroom with a spa bath. The only fault was that it needed a new lining on the bottom of the spa. The staff were excellent, really friendly. The restaurant was good but there was one very faulty towers waiter made us laugh at times, particularily when had to go looking through their store room for a bottle of port. The location was terrific in terms of views over the bay and great sunsets off the balcony, but walking down to the beach (public land) is quite dirty. We got a free massage and breakfast as part of our deal. The breakfasts were a cut above some other hotels as there is a mix of self serve and ala carte.

This establishment offers a relaxing retreat away from the hustle and bustle of Kata Centre - albeit, it's a slightly hilly climb to the hotel - with a high standard of rooms and amenities, and panoramic views of Kata Beach which is accessible via a walking path.

During our whole trip in Asia it was the worst hotel. Problems:
- rooms for the same price are different - aou room was very poor like a hostel: no furniture, no window, no pictures, no mirrors just the big white walls etc.
- we couldn't use the balcon because of lizards (and the balcon door was the only way to get fresh air) - I know that this hotel is in the jungle but these lizards were huge and disgusting and they felt upon us
- because of no window the room was smelly like a wine cellar
- every day the breakfast was the same
- sometimes lizards came into the room (for one day they "occupied" the toilett)
- cleaning was not perfect
- after the shower gel run out we didn't get new one just after 2 days so we had to buy one in a shop (I think in a 5 star hotel this is strange)
- as there were no windows we had to use the AC which was very loud
