“Great Stay”
Reviewed September 12, 2012

I stayed in Aspasia and had a great time. The room is huge and spacious with sea view. The staff were very nice and polite. It is about 10 minutes walk to Kata Beach. I will definitely come back again! :)

We stayed in a two bedroom grand suite with our 18 month baby.we found the suite large, self contained, well designed...though a bit frayed in some places.the staff was helpful even though they don't speak good English, but the manager went out of her way to help us charge our iPhones as they had run out of adapters. The breakfast selection was great...and though they offered us free dinner,we found the portions extremely small and hence didn't repeat it after the first night .there was no light in the stairwells in the night...and when we were checking out at 6am it was pitch dark, and I had to climb down four floors in complete darkness with my baby in my arms..overall, we will come back to the aspasia.

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms have great views but there is no elevator so be prepared for a four floor climb u...

We stayed one week in the 210 square meter 2 Bedroom Grand Sea View Suite for a great low season deal. Any time we came back to the suite it felt like home, a open living room which you could extend on the big terrace by opening the floor to ceiling windows. Full kitchen, dining table, sofa area, flat tv, dvd and a sound system with connection for laptop or mobile phone. Two spacious bedrooms with nice shower, one with whirlpool, 3 toilets. There is a ceiling fan in every room and also on the terrace, what was perfect for us because I don't like aircons (was quiet noisy) too much. The breakfast had a good range of choice, the egg station offered some nice creations like tripple scrambled egg with smoked salmon and it was available until 11am!! The beautiful calm white sanded beach was was reachable with a short 5 minute walk over a small trail and had also good option for snorkling at the reef nearby. They offered us a complementary dinner, which we didn't like to much, so we didn't eat at the restaurant again. But there is plenty of choice in Kata a short walk or tuktuk ride away. If i come back to Phuket again, I'll certainly choose Aspasi again.

I was quite unhappy to begin our 5 night stay here at the Aspasia - we paid top dollar for our 145sqm room (which after staying there after the first night of disappointment, i really enjoyed it!)
The room we stayed in had a few problems in it - spa was not working - this was the whole point of the room plus the amazing room! The internet also didnt work , but alas, we were on holidays after all, so that wasnt an issue.
The view was fantastic, overlooking Andaman Sea and Kata Beach.
The breakfast was great - eggs, pancakes, bacon cooked to your liking - good selection.
Kata town was a short ttrip down the hill - so a bit of exercise we had , and the stairs up to our 'penthouse'

Aspasia is ideally located at the quiet end of Kata Beach and affords wonderful views from nearly everywhere in the hotel. Our Grand Seaview Suite was enormous and very comfortable. Although only a few years old the hotel is showing signs of wear, but this is normal in these regions where keeping up with the elements is a full time job. The staff do an excellent job under the circumstances and were often seen managing the gardens and cleaning the common areas. The rooms were spotlessly clean. Breakfast was good, and the other 2 meals we had there were reasonably priced (as long as you don't want wine) and very nice. The issue of wine in Phuket is a problem everywhere. You can actually buy some reasonable wine in the supermarket at a fair price but all restaurants charge ridiculous prices for a very poor selection. My only criticisms relate to the beach path, and the lack of soundproofing between rooms with connecting doors. I realise the path is not hotel property but, surely they could do something about the last few metres at the bottom to make it safer. We had been upgraded to our very large suite so were loath to complain, but we could hear every word when our neighbours were in. Fortunately they were not late party people! The hotel airport transfers are very good and only a few BHT more than if you arranged them yourself.

Room Tip: The higher your room the more privacy you have as people can't walk past.

The rooms of this former timeshare were really amazing. You get a bedroom / kitchen / living room / outside space with deck chairs for a very low price. Total area was around 125 m2.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They arranged for taxi's and told us where to walk for the bars / restaurants (although they were quite a disappointment).

The walk towards the beach is short and very much doable. I've read stories that it's too hard and they should make a proper path there but I totally disagree. It's beautiful walking that path on the edge of the jungle and going up is tough, but hey, you're not going to do it 10 times per day right?

All in all, great hotel with excellent value for money.

Room Tip: Take the sea view ... amazing!
