This hotel was fantastic for the money we paid. The staff were the most friendliest and the size of the bed rooms and view were incredible. When you arrive there are fresh flowers on the bed and its so peacful and quiet that we often had the pool to ourselves. There are waterfalls outside the bedrooms and the gardens are so pretty.

The walk down to the beach is a bit dodgy i.e. i dont think its suitable for children and the elderly as like one of the other reviews says it is a windy little dirt track with no hand rail in some places, and then when you get to the very end of the path you come out onto a concrete road that has collapsed so you have to climb over broken bits of concrete to reach the other side. Once on the other side the road ends and you have to climb over beach rocks and under boat tie up lines and then you are on the beach. (See Photo)

However you do not have to take this path you can always just walk out the front of the hotel and down the main road as that leads to the beach as well. It just takes a bit longer.

If you dont mind all this then you will love this hotel. The sunset on the beach is magnificent and the food served is brilliant ranging from Thai dishes to western cuisine. You are in a perfect location to walk into town although do be advised that Aspasia is on a steep hill, but Tuc Tucs are so cheap.

My partner and I loved this hotel as it really was out of the way and peacful. We thought it was brilliant for the price we paid and would definetly go back. You even get a complimentary free thai body massage.

Room Tip: I would ask for a room that is next to the pool, the room we had had the best view and was on the se...

Do not believe what Aspasia claim on their website! The walk to the beach is not two minutes and certainly not through their beautiful gardens. It is in fact a hazardous hike down a steep hill with no hand rail in places, no defined steps and generally a dirty and dangerous walk - so much so, that there is a disclaimer by the hotel management at the top of the walk stating that you take the walk at your own risk and that they accept no responsibility for any accidents!
Now, on to the room........first impression was "wow"! Lovely big room, great bathroom and great view. On closer inspection we found pubic hair in the shower and toilet - yuck! Also, the room had a partition door to the next room.......we could see into the next room as there was about an inch of a gap all around the door frame. We spoke to reception about it and asked to be moved to another room but they said that all of the rooms had partition doors. We booked through Agoda, so we contacted them straight away and told them that we would be leaving (had booked in for a week). Agoda were great and refunded the majority of what we had paid. We went on-line and booked a room on Coral Island (stayed there last year and loved it, plus it was close by so we didn't have to travel too far). I would not recommend this hotel to anyone - it was an absolute disgrace. To top it off, the breakfast buffet was disgusting - flies all over the food and my husband left the Aspasia with a bad case of food poisoning. Book this hotel at your peril.

suites are very spacious, if you are in a place for a few days, the space is not so important. the shower was something to see, we could of had a party for 10 people in there. we were at the aspasia in the low season so we were cooked our breakfast individually. we ate at the restaurant one night and it was all good. the pool is fantastic with more views. the beach is accessible by a bit of a wonky path, so be careful. the beach at karon is great. the resort is at the end of a hilly street, that is ok because after you have eaten all of the great food in the town you can walk it off going back to the hotel. the staff were great. i would rent a moped if you were not keen on walking. i suppose it is only a ten minute walk but with drinks etc it can be a bit boring, ok if you are young. good quiet hotel, would stay again.

Room Tip: i think upgrade to a delux, we stayed in a superior.

I just came back from Phuket; I stayed on Aspasia for 4 nights. It is really wonderful place to stay. It was like a "maze" but u will get used to it from the first day. I booked it through booking.com for THB 4200 net and we have been upgraded to a grand room free of charge. Its 3 minutes walking to the beach with a private shortcut. The only thing that the room services (in room dinning) are not available 24hours as the restaurant closed around 10pm with no fast food restaurants nearby. Everything ales was very good.

We stayed 4 nights in the Aspasia hotel in Kata Beach area of Phuket. The hotel is getting some work on it but not to the point that it is distracting from the stay. We stayed in one of the Grand Seaview Suites and it was a large room. This hotel used to be condos so the rooms have small kitchens, which can be handy. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves. The staff were friendly and even though there is a small language barrier, they always did their best to help and make us feel comfortable. Had a good view of the sea from our deck, everything in the room was working, no damp smell that can sometimes be there in hotels in this kind of climate, very clean. We will go back again..

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Aspasia Phuket. My friends and I originally booked 2 Deluxe Grand Rooms, but were pleased upon arrival to find out that they upgraded us for free to a 2 Bedroom Grand Suite. The suite was amazing! We were also given vouchers for one free dinner and one free hour long Thai massage. (both were great)

The resorts location is fantastic. As others have said, it's situated on a bit of a hill, but the view from your room makes it worth it. The hill is also honestly not that bad! I'm not the most athletic person, and had no problems. Unless you have very young children it shouldn't be a problem. From the resort, it's about a 5 minute walk down to a less busy part of Kata beach (which we loved), but also close to a lot of great restaurants and shopping.

The beds were extremely comfortable, the rooms were kept clean. Breakfast was amazing. Some of the cocktails weren't amazing, but that's the only thing I can think to complain about.

Do yourself a favor and stay here!

Room Tip: I booked through http://www.asiawebdirect.com and got a great deal

I went here with my wife on our honeymoon and got a cracking deal on Agoda as it was low season, although it didn't rain at all and the heat was perfect! We stayed in a 1 bed seaview suite and had the most amazing view of any hotel I've stayed in. Situated at the top of a hill with a beautiful jungle trail down to the beach, or a short walk down a hill road, the location was perfect as it was close to Kata main street, but far away enough to be away from the bustling nature of the area. Staff were very helpful, especially Rotjana on front desk! Only bad point we noticed was the maid service in the rooms was a little half hearted. Every day we returned to the room, there was either dirty plates and glasses or bed sheets left outside our front door, not always from our room, ready to be picked up later by the staff. Small gripe, but it was something there was no need for and not the nicest thing to see everytime you come back to your room. All in all though, would definitely recommend this hotel!

Room Tip: Go for the seaview, you wont regret it!
