“Amazing boutique hotel despite the monsoon weather!”
Reviewed January 30, 2013

Luv this boutique hotel!
Amazing backdrop view of Kata Noi Beach!
Staff is excellent and friendly..
Luv the little pathway to the beach..
Room is amazing! luv the setup! Humungous comfy bed! awesome bathroom! very clean..
they have a tiny gym which served its purpose, dated equipments however..
REstaurant is amazing.. very classy and trendy..
amazing breakfast buffet! tons of selections..
This is like Amanpuri except less expensive... Stayed in Amanpuri in 2011.. Mom Tri is nothing to sneeze at... I would stay here again over Amanpuri if ever I come back to Phuket.. Amanpuri is big and feels less personal although it is an awesome place!

Just returned from 4 nights at Mom Tri's and had a wonderful stay. This is our third time to this hotel and we have loved every trip there. We travelled with our two young children and stayed in Suite 1 which has 2 bedrooms which was great for us. Mom Tri's is a beautiful oasis and a minute from the gorgeous Kata Noi Beach. Staff are always on hand and very kind and helpful. The food at Mom Tri's Kitchen is excellent and the view is beautiful. We also had a drink at the new Ocean Wing and watched the sunset. This is not the place to bring kids that need on site activities/kids club /big resort but we loved spending quality time with our kids and going to Kata noi each day and hanging out at the hotel's pool. The spa treatments are also wonderful.

We loved staying in the Pool Suite for 3 nights in January 2013. We wanted to stay in a sea-view room in Phuket -- and originally considered a stay at Amanpuri. However, Amanpuri's ocean and partial-ocean view pavilions were roughly twice the price of the Pool Suite at Mom Tri's, so we decided to give Mom Tri's a shot -- and we weren't disappointed.

The Pool Suite isn't inexpensive, but offers great privacy, design, comfort, and space, with terrific views over Kata Noi (Little Kata) beach and the sounds of the crashing surf below. There's a separate gate leading up several steps to the private patio -- the staff won't enter without ringing a bell by the gate if the "privacy requested" sign is out. The photos on the Villa Royale's website are accurate and provide a good sense of what the Pool Suite is like.

The Pool Suite is located about 35 steps above Kata Noi beach -- about a 2 minute walk down the hill from Mom Tri's. We spent hours swimming in the surf, and then returning to relax in the sunny and shady areas of the Pool Suite's patio and cooling off in the infinity-edged plunge pool overlooking the beach and surf below. Room service was prompt and the food very good, and as a result we spent most of our time at Mom Tri's chilling out in the privacy of the Pool Suite.

The daily buffet breakfast -- served until 10:30 a.m. -- was excellent and relaxing, and offered a broad selection of fresh fruit, juices, cereals, baked goods, smoked salmon, made-to-order eggs and omelets.

The spa was also excellent -- built on several levels overlooking a small reflecting pool. An added bonus was that Mom Tri's was the only hotel we stayed at in Thailand that had male masseurs on their staff.

We ate dinner on 2 nights in the main restaurant -- food was very good and service excellent. The restaurant is quiet -- a pianist playing in the background and the sound of the surf crashing on the rocks below. Great for a romantic dinner, but not the type of place where there's a buzz of energy and excitement.

We weren't big fans of Phuket itself -- we found much of the island to be overdeveloped and unappealing -- and we're pretty adventurous travelers. We were always glad to return from our forays outside of the Villa Royale to the comfortable retreat that Mom Tri's offers, and we'd definitely return if we ever make it back to Phuket in the future.

stayed in the beach wing for 7 nights with amazing views from our room, location is to die for for.

room facilities very good.

there are 3 pools the freshwater pool built into the rocks was our favorite and just a 2 minute walk to a lovely beach with beds available for hotel guests.

overall service was good but could be improved with just a few minor details.
fresh drinking water was supplied when you first settled in your sun lounger but was not topped up without having to go and ask.

sunbeds could do with mattresses for more comfort & ratten chairs at the pool bar would benefit from cushions as it was uncomfortable having lunch when wearing swimwear.
security was lax as people wandered up from beach who were not resident in the hotel and in most cases were not stopped from entering hotel grounds this needs to be addressed.
nice bar in the evening for pre dinner drinks but expensive average £6.50 a drink.
we ate in the rst 2 nights one good & one not I would suggest sticking to the thai menu.

breakfast was good but please cover up fruit as it attracted flies and therefore was not appealing.
hotel managment & customer pr manager did not make themselves known to guests unless there was a problem never a good thing need to mingle more as this is a small property and would benefit from a more personalised service.

theses were all minor issues which did not stop us from enjoying our time but if rectified could make the experience even better.

What is not to like about this little piece of heaven? The staff are welcoming and friendly. The location is to die for. The food and drinks truly world class. And the facilities on offer make you feel so at home. The hard thing is that I cannot stay here forever. If you want a truly special place to stay then this is for you!!

My wife and I stayed in the Ocean Wing for 8 nights. This quiet annex was the owner's house and is decorated with his own art and sculptures. The view is out of a movie and the service excellent, but understated. The hotel has a number of pools, my favorite is the sea water rock pool, so you have choice of sunny or shaded relaxation spots with plenty of quite space. The walk from the Ocean Wing to and from the hotel helps you burn off the extra calories from the excellent restaurant. The dinners at Mom Tri's Kitchen (both Thai and Mediterranean) were delicious albeit rather pricy. The short climb down to the beach is well worth it as the swimming conditions in the warm and clear sea are excellent. I snorkeled from the beach around the rocks below the hotel and observed tropical sea life a few meters from the shore. Kata Noi beach is quiet and has very few vendors. The Kata village is 5 mins away and the hotel offers a free on demand drop off service to local shops and restaurants.

We have been staying at Mom Tri's Villa Royale each year since 2009 and it is our favorite hotel in Phuket, we have stayed in the Royale Wing Suites, Ocean Wing Suites and many times in the Beach Wing Suites.

Our most recent trip we stayed twice, the first time in August 2012 and the second time during October 2012. Both times the weather was sensational, we booked the 7 night Platinum Package which is great value.

Every time we arrive the whole experience is magical, the happy staff, the beautiful rooms, Mom Tri’s Kitchen, the grounds, the pools, watching fire flies from our balcony and the peaceful surroundings. Check in is always a breeze, it only takes a few seconds and instantly you are made to feel very welcome.

We love the Beach Wing Suites; they are more traditional, lots of woodwork and sensational views of Kata Noi Beach from the balcony. All the rooms have free wifi, 32 inch flat screen televisions and DVD players. These rooms may not be suitable for the elderly or disabled due to the amount of steps leading up and down from reception. (However the Royale Wing Suite would be perfect as there are no steps).

The rooms are spotless and there is a turn down service at night, I love how they also leave chocolates on the bed. Each day there are also complimentary newspapers and a sweet treat plus fresh fruit left in your room.

There are so many private seating areas around the hotel, set amongst stunning lush green gardens, so if you’re after privacy then Villa Royale is the place to be.

It is also all the little things here that count, like coming back at night and our bed has been turned down, a mosquito coil is plugged in; the oil burner is lit, not to mention delicious chocolates left on the bed!

Then there is the wonderful staff, everyone is so happy and no matter where we were in the hotel or grounds they would always stop to say hello and ask how we were. The service at Mom Tri’s Villa Royale is incredible.

We have also had many meals at Mom Tri's Kitchen, the selection of food is exceptionally good, and so you are never short of choice. Prices are also extremely reasonable and the views are sensational.
