We were taken here after finding the hotel on latestays.com. The hotel originally didn't receive our pre-paid booking from the website, but happily put us up until they sorted it out. The service was really good, with a great breakfast buffet. There are two pools, one family pool and another for doing lengths.

The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the beach. There's a street full of restaurants less than a block away and a fair-priced independent taxi service just by the hotel entrance.

The room itself was big, comfortable and nicely decorated. The cleaners insisted on putting our toiletries in descending order of height each day, no matter how or where we put them (it ended up being a game we played).

We loved this hotel, don't know where to start, everything was perfect. Room was really nice and clean with european style bathroom (big plus in Thailand) with balcony overlooking swimming pool and TV with English speaking channels. Lovely swimming pool was unfortunately closed later in the evening. Breakfast which was included in the price (we paid 1900THB/night) was awesome, buffet style with huge selection of food). Staff was very nice and helpful and there were all the services available as in the luxurious hotel. Kata beach, restaurants and shops are few minutes walk from the resort:-) I would recommend this hotel to everyone except people with disabilities or older people cause there was no elevator (as far as I know). Kata beach is pretty far from the airport, it takes about 40minutes, but it's worth beautiful crystal clear waters of Kata beach:-)

Having read previous reviews I was expecting something 'tired' and in need of updating...in part this was true, however, what I did find was the people going out of their way to make both Christmas and New Year a time to remember. They worked incrediby hard to get the place ready and despite rather a boring breakfast every morning...the food for Christmas and New Year was lovely. The whole thing could have been seen as tacky but knowing how hard everyone worked and how excited everyone was you couldn't fail to be amazed...and enjoy yourself.
If I needed a value for money place to stay in Phuket...I would certainly come back here. The beach was by far the best we found and a good mix of restaurants and bars.
We had a great time.

Serene Resort is exactly that. Beautiful lush gardens, centrally located and deserves more than the 2 1/2 star rating. Very clean, friendly staff and lovely breakfast. I will be returning to the Serene for sure.

7 years of good Serene/Sea Wind experiences were marred by run-down rooms and surly, officious, curt front desk staff (the rest were nice as usual). What was clean, nice & friendly has really changed. The 1st room was by road, and very noisy; we changed that for a room which was infested with mosquitoes - after killing 30-40, there were still too many, changed that for one that was damp and dark. We will not go back, which is sad for the convenience and past good experiences.

Me and my wife stayed here for one week last year. The room was nice. Four stars to the room and two stars to the restroom. There is a road very close to the hotel and you have to walk on this road when you are going to the beach. Be careful, there are no sidewalk.
Breakfast is served in the restaurant and is an typical thai breakfast with rice and pineapple.

We stayed in the hotel at the end of 2006 during christmas and new years eve.
The hotel looks good and the location is ok, it's by the road but that i sno problem for traffic noise. The is nice but needs some repairs here and there. The poolbar is not the place to hange out!!! A great miss in the hotel is that they have no nice bar in the hotel or at the pool area. The 'try' to have some entertainment every night but it's BAD!!! LEAVE!!!!! for a nice bar in the area there are enough.
Rooms are OK!! No complains. it;s a 4 minute walk to the beach so that's ok.
Kata beach were the hotel is, is not that quiet the travel agents tell you, but it is ok and not to busy as patong beach.
Staff is frendly and the breakfest is ok, western en thai food.

Tip: Don't join the christmas dinner or new years eve dinner.
Why? Dinner is good but the price you pay is way to hi!! The entertainment during those dinners is the ' ---' thing you ever seen.
