“A very good hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2013 via mobile

We stayed in this hotel for 18 nights and must say it is a very good hotel. The hotel and rooms are very clean and it has a wonderful set up and grounds. The staff is very helpful and well prepared, the restaurant in the evening serves superb food at a very reasonable price and if one goes there it's worth a visit. The hotel has a breathtaking pool that goes around the lower rooms and another that is big but normal, both have pool bars which serve anything one desires. Breakfast is very good and one can find European or Thai foods in it. Unfortunately while we where staying there some restructuring work was being done in some rooms and the noise was annoying especially in the afternoons. This effects my vote from an excellent one to very good. In general is a good choice and very worth the money.

We have just returned from our stay and we spent 8 nights at Kata Palms Resort and Spa. We liked the positions of the hotel, the decor was was very authentic with Thai style. We stayed in the room with the direct pool access and could have not asked for more. That was the best feature and honestly, I think the best rooms: spacious, with day bed, outside terrace with lounge charis and a table, on one side water statue, on the other frangipani tree. We used the pool at every opportunity, even in the rain. We would only stay in the same style room though. Loved the pool, the bar, gardens, water statues that come alive with water at around 10am...The drinks at the bar pool are slightly more expensive than outside, but a whole lot cheaper that the other resort we stayed later! So, no complains really. Breakfast is a mix of foods...the best was egg station where two guys make fresh eggs to your liking, we stuck to this. Having stir fries for breakfast is just not right, but they have to cater for variety of guests. The room was cleaned every day to perfection. Access to shops, restaurants, beach is very very very easy...at your door step! Staff at the reception seem to do overwhelmed at most of the times, speak simple English, be clear with your questions, they language skills are just to get by, but they were helpful when needed. The bed is very very large, but rather firm. AC is quite noisy even on the lowest setting, hard to sleep at night: either too hot or too noisy. We ended up alternating between us to switch on or off during the night.
Overall, good place to stay if you are looking for central, more authentic Thai style resort with modern features. We liked it!

Room Tip: If you can, upgrade to a room with a direct pool access!

I traveled to Phuket in March by myself to catch up with some friends who were visiting from Denmark. I found the staff at Kata Palm Resort and Spa to be very helpful and friendly. There were some language barriers with some of the staff but we were able to work our way around this. The breakfast banquet was plentiful with a good mix of both hot and cold food. I loved the swimming pool and the fact that we could swim up to the bar and order drinks and ice cream sundaes. I stayed in a Deluxe Pool View room and it was lovely and spacious. The day bed was perfect for a midday rest and the bathroom featured a very relaxing bath.
All in all I had a great stay here and would be happy to return in the future.

Room Tip: If you would like a room with extra space I would suggest upgrading to a Deluxe Pool View Room. For...

We have just returned from a two week stay at Kata Palm. The hotel is in a great location for short walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. The rooms are large and comfortable with good size storage for luggage. Pool area is the hotels best feature our little boy was never out of it.
Food, we ate breakfast and lunch, the breakfast was ok, but could be improved on by adding more varieties of fresh fruit. I highly recommend the spicy mixed salad at lunch, it was so tasty!
Although we paid extra to hold our room, on the last day the staff were accommodating. This is a nice hotel in a good location, and we had a lovely stay here.

Room Tip: Pick a pool access room, you wont be disappointed !

We ( a family of three) expected a lot from this hotel. Maybe we are spoiled, but our stay was quite disappointing and actually we left after one day.
The staff at the reception was not friendly and cooperative at all. An extra bed was put in our room for our daughter, but to be honest, there was no real space available; leaving us crawling over the beds to move from one side to the room to the other. Our bed was really old, and left us with the springs sticking up in our backs all night. In all fairness, the bathroom had been redecorated and renovated. The rest of the hotel looked outdated, felt dark and many of the facilities were not in operation; poolbar/fitness.
Breakfast was not impressive at all and all pictures on the site were definitely taken with a very, very wide angle lens. All in all the whole hotel had a run down feeling to it.

We have just arrived home from a great family holiday at Kata Palm. The resort has great rooms and we were spoilt to have a pool access room. Other rooms are great as well just not with direct access to pool but great views. Great bath. The pools are gorgeous and a great retreat after spending the day shopping, tours or beach. Loved the swim up bar so close. Our family were at resort to celebrate my inlaws 50th wedding anniversary and Pauline in particular made it the most memorable time for the 25 of us. A wonderful night was spent at the hotel restaurant with great music, very friendly staff and a cake organized by the wonderful Pauline. If you don't like the firm bed staff are more than helpful to place a soft topper on you bed.. The tour desk and Mr Ti transport great they can arrange anything you want to do for reasonable prices....much more competitive than doing through the brochure direct. The beach was not far to walk to or take the courtesy car. We will definitely be back. A fantastic hotel especially if staying with a group of other families.

Room Tip: Our family of 2 adults 2 kids fitted really comfortably into a pool access room with one child shari...
