“Study Abroad Trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2013

For study abroad this past summer, my friends and I who went on the trip stayed here for 4 weeks straight. Our rooms and beds were cleaned every night and the staff was very helpful and nice. The wifi in the far corner room above the pool did not get much reception, but we were in paradise, no need for much internet. The hotel is in a great location right across from the beautiful beach! BUT when crossing the street be careful because the roads are opposite and can not see around the corner of the speeding TukTuks and you look the wrong way! Breakfast was good, even having the same options every day for 4 weeks was not bad, lots of variety. The pool was great along with the pool bar to go with :)
The attached restaurant is good! The pad thai not the best in town, but the steak buffet is worth it!
Great location to other beaches like Patong to party, only a TukTuk away!

We stayed in the resort for 3 nights. It was really a great experience. One good thing was that we went in the off season. Got a good room in reasonable rate. A little disappointed by the view that they show in the management photographs, but other things cover it up. Break fast was good, with a lot of options. The restaurant is also good. Beach is just 100 meters away, across the road. Hotel staff was also helpful, but a few english speaking people in the staff would have been better.
Word of caution for the vegetarians and people preferring Indian food, Kata beach is not for you. Stay in Patong. Other than that, Kata is just awesome. Try exploring the night life in Kata, you will get some good deals around.

Would definitely visit again some time.

Room Tip: Do not leave your valuables around, even the flipflops! and Do not take rooms beyond 3rd floor. You...

Ahhh. The bloody steps. We had a room with a fantastic view 2 beds to start with So I just said NO WAY. And. Was. Taken to another room Great room. No air con working. They did get maintenance staff to try but to no avail. They. Then repaired it the next day was advertised with 3 restaurants. But only has one pool bar Closed early every day breakfast. Was. Average Our booking stated that we could get free trip to patong beach daily But. This was a load of crap And then when I had to book out early to come home they wanted me to pay an early check out fee. Even though the room had been paid for in advance and no hope of a refund I'm sure there are a lot better. Resorts to stay at

Room Tip: Keep looking I think

My husband and I spent 10 days here and loved it! The beds are a little too firm for me, but hubby thought was perfect. The view was perfect looking out to beach and sunset was picture perfect. The small pool (still a nice size!) was never staffed for towels or bar service, just the larger pool.
We didn't opt for breakfast plan, as usually slept too late, but went one morning, didn't feel we were missing anything special. The breakfast next to beach at Kata Barbecue was better priced and literally right in the beach! The steps up from street level and then up to each floor could be difficult, but a couple of lifts are available.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 2208, any room on this floor or the two above it all have great view.

We stayed in this hotel for 5 days 4 nights and the first night was great, we slept well, it was quiet and the bed was firm and nice.
However, in the next few morning, at around 6am, we could hear moving of furnitures and shoutings outside our room. Later we realised they were the staffs cleaning rooms at 6am, moving the furnitures, we could hear them because the floor is not carpeted.

Besides the above, I have to say the room was big and nice, view was good, breakfast was excellent. Note that we had to climb a few flight of steps to our room, it may bring som difficulties for those who are less fit.

It was low season so we made use of the swimming pool instead of the sea.

To get to the airport, you have to book a taxi with the 'taxi mafia' which costs 1200 BAHT!

I stayed at this hotel for a week in May with my adult son.... we thorougly enjoyed it.... the rooms were lovely Thai style with great verandahs overlooking the pool and on to beautiful Kata beach. This hotel is not modern and sterile... I wanted to have an experience of Thailand and this is what I found here - beautiful traditional Thai statues in lovely tropical gardens. The hotel staff were so friendly and nice and just did everything they could to help. Before I went to Thailand I looked on Trip Advisor at every hotel in the Kata / Karon Beach area and finally chose this one.... I was not disappointed it is a great value for money, hotel with beautiful gardens and sooo close to the beach - thoroughly recommended.
