My wife and I eat at this restaurant at least once a week. The menu has something for everyone including the
Pepper Steak with Potato Bake that is as good as you will find at any steak restaurant in Australia. The food, music and great staff make this a very welcoming and relaxed dining venue. We could not recommend this restaurant enough. Thank you Siva for your exceptional hospitality.

We came here due to the excellent ratings on Trip Advisor. We enjoyed our meal and the live music. We thought we had made an excellent choice for our dinner meal...until later in the evening. Our 8 year-old daughter threw up as we settled in for the evening at our hotel. It is heartbreaking to see your child go through this, clinging to the toilet bowl and moaning about her upset stomach for hours. It's what drives me to write this review this very evening.

Often it's hard to tell where food poisoning comes from, but in this case we are quite certain. Our daughter had the spaghetti with meat sauce offered as the "kids meal." She had not eaten since lunch, when she had plain boiled pasta (with no sauce or condiments) at a different restaurant (she enjoys pasta). We believe that the meat sauce that this restaurant served for their "kids meal" was contaminated. There is just no other explanation. That is the only part I know for sure. If I were to speculate, I would suspect that this restaurant may be mincing leftover meat in whatever condition to use in their meat sauce, to feed to children.

This is our fifth night in Kata and we finally found a restaurant we will defintely go back and dine at again. Eating at other local restaurants the previous nights were good but eating at the Cafeopera was just divine in taste. We ordered the Thai dishes and had the special drinks menu. The staff were friendly with a smile and in the background was some nice easy listening music while you ate. If you prefer to have the curries not so spicy then simply ask the staff when ordering who will make sure it's not to hot. We had 2 x specials alcoholic drink, 1 x entre to share. 2 x curries and 3 x boiled rice totalling 650 Baht (A$23.00 approx) Great value for money and food that left your taste buds wanting more. Cafeopera should not be rated number 3 in Kata but for us number 1.

We found Cafeopera through TripAdvisor, it was located not more than 500m from our hotel. we had checked this restaurant out prior to arrival and were not disapointed. From Western food to Thai dishes - this place was great. Fantastic steaks, great range of Yummy Thai dishes - we went here twice durring our stay. They have live music which is great to listen too while you sit back in one of the many soft lounges and enjoy a meal or something to drink on a warm night. The staff here are tops and really look after you - the girls are ever attendant to your needs and service is always with a smile.
Walk past the other restaurants that will try and entice you to come in as you wander down to CafeOpera but continue to your set destination and you too will enjoy.
To CafeOpera - thank you to all for a couple of wonderful nights entertainment and refreshments

My favourite restaurant in Kata, the food was amazing and wow 99 baht for a mojhito/gin and tonic ! With live music playing and great food, my husband had a kebab skewer it was very tasty and I ate a thai dish my son had a children's meal. Go early as it gets busy, but well worth visiting !
