“GREAT VIEWPOINT FOR SUNSETS”
Reviewed May 25, 2013

Each time we go to Phuket we go to the After Beach Bar. Great food and drinks and excellent tables on the outside deck to watch the spectacular sunsets. We've been to Promthep Cape but it does get very crowded. The After Beach Bar is just out of Kata on the way to Karon View Point. Parking is a little difficult but fine if you get there early enough and before all the other "sunset watchers" start arriving. If you want a top spot for catching the sunset this is definitely recommended.

“OK food - Great views - Difficult parking”
Reviewed May 18, 2013

Two of us called in for a light lunch ... Pad Thai and a beer each.

Very cheap and quite tasty.

The service was a little iffie with the young guy serving seeming a real beginner ... I guess everyone has to start sometime :-)

Only 4 in the entire restaurant at 1230pm, but it is the off season.

Car parking is very limited ... you have to park as close as you can to the front of the restaurant and leave the car intruding into the traffic lane.

Definitely worth a visit - if only for the view.

Just down the road from Koh Chang Elephant Safari so maybe combine your visits.

Love this place. Drinks watching the sunset - Thailand is beautiful. Great music (was nice to hear NZ's Black Seeds playing yeah!!) The Thai Beef salad here is the best I've had in my life.

“Sunset Central !!!”
Reviewed May 2, 2013

Out of the 3 restaurants perched up high on this hill out of Kata, I feel this would be the pick of the bunch for location. Sitting in the middle, it has the best views of the surrounding hillside and over Kata.

The food and drinks here are good, you will not be disappointed.
We had Thai food here and they are not creating a storm, just serving nice food at fantastic prices. The cocktails were heavenly though.
Service left a little to be desired, they are not too quick at checking your table when there are no drinks or food left, which was annoying.

What you MUST go here for, is the most divine view of the sun setting over the sea.

Nowhere around the area is better positioned, It truly is the best place for a Phuket sunset.

Only 200 Bt each way by tuk-tuk out of kata gets you a sunset dinner to remember.
