We enjoyed our quick lunch here after a morning at Kata Beach. Had fried whole fish, padthai, shrimp paste rice, a number of other dishes, fruit shakes all around, and they were all good. The most reasonable of all restaurants we have tried in Kata, with Pad Thai at just 50thb and other dishes are 85-130thb thereabouts. Whole fried fish (small) is 320thb. Great thai cooking, (read: authentic!). The eatery is not fancy though, very basic tables and chairs, more of a quick lunch/dinner type of place. A cheap and cheerful meal!

We went here because we had read the reviews on trip advisor and we certainly weren't disappointed. The food was very good clean Thai food. We ended up eating here the three nights we were in Kata. What we noticed was a lot of the same people were there each night which is always a good sign, given the number of choices in restaurants there are. We loved the chicken with basil but everything we tried we loved. It is a lovely family run business, very friendly and appreciative of the business. Our only disappointment was that we didn't try the fresh seafood, it looked so nice and lots of people were getting it but we loved the freshness and tastes of their Thai food so we stuck with that.

Went here on 3 occasions during our Kata stay and was very impressed with the food and the service every single time. There is a young Thai guy who does front of house and he was very helpful when we were trying to choose our fish from the chiller at the front. We tried king tiger prawns, red snapper, clams, perch. Overall we found all the fish to be very fresh, perfectly cooked, and beautifully flavoured. The food seemed to be authentic here, it is not a fancy place but we enjoyed everything we ate and the atmosphere.

It took us three nights in Kata before we made it to Kwong's. Most of the other places we tried were half decent but expensive. Some were just damn disappointing. Kwong's is the only place where we'll be going back to. Very friendly and efficient staff who take great pride in the place. Fantastic seafood at very reasonable prices. Ten years living in Thailand and this place, for me, is one of the best.

This place, so far is the best Thai food we've had in the area! King prawns in their chili sauce was amazing. We literally took the plate and dripped all the sauce onto our spoons! The prawns were also huge and perfectly cooked! All of our dishes were well seasoned. We will be back at least a couple more times before our holiday is over.

Staff is extremely friendly and Mr. Kwong would come out every 30 mins or so to visit each table and give us a thumbs up to make sure we were all happy :)

You couldn't ask for more... Amazing food, great service and great prices. Well maybe one could ask for AC but with some much joy from your meal, who cares!
