Ever holiday from now on will always be compared to The Shore at Katathani. I am sure I will never find a place as perfect, peaceful, serene and so beautifully appointed. The private serenity pool off the huge bedroom is like utopia and the views to die for. I have taken so many photos and videos, i never want to forget this place. A short tuk tuk ride into either Kata or Karon if you want to bother but it is a hard place to leave even for a few hours. Sabina the Manager is lovely and very kind as as all the staff, always smiling and wanting to please the guests, nothing is to much trouble. Champagne and flowers on arrival and the little touches like the orchid and ribbon on the door to welcome you to your room are special. We will be back and I will tell everyone I know to stay here.

Two nights at the HEAVENLY Shore Hotel during my honeymoon trip & it was so romantically perfect..

The Check-in was good & smooth, the receptionist guiding us to the room & into the room facilities was extremely friendly & welcoming (Her name is Germine I believe), she showed us around the room with a sincere smile. Then left us to enjoy the heavenly breath-taking view from the room.
Very high hospitality..
One of the management staff has welcomed us very warmly & had a nice brief chat with us upon both arrival & departure.
One can interpret that the hotel management is keen on customer experience.

The room is unbelievably perfect, trendy yet very comfy with the white & cream colours. It inspires the ultimate happiness & relaxation within oneself. The bed was decorated with flowers saying Happy Honeymoon which as soo romantic & a cute small vanilla heart shape cake waiting for us with a delicious endvouring smell & taste. The room was super squeaky clean. The room had a fragrance aroma that felt fresh, dreamy & extremely comfy. Very spacious & furtniture divided into the room to inspire a feeling of home away from home but a very heavenly home. The bathroom is very spacious & the shower is enjoyable. The room's private pool was very refreshing & cool with an incredible view of the beach & far facing an island. Perfect in everyway.

The location is a lil far from the action spots but I believe this is a positive aspect as it is away from the crowded noisy gatherings thus maintaing its privacy & elegance.

The Breakfast venue is breath-taking, fresh breeze & heavenly sights, the selection is wide & items are very delicious, the staff were very attentive smiley & helpful.

Room Service operator needs more customer-service training & to be more attentive, food quality was very good.

The Experience is incredibaly unforgettable; the exceptional services have made our honeymoon heavenly perfect inspiring the passion to start our lives with wonderful memories.

I would like to Thank the Shore Management & Staff & definetly I am looking forward to go back soon.

Not long open. A very special very elegant small luxury resort on the slope at the South end of Kata Noi beach. Guests are transported to and from the rooms by golf buggy. Rooms are huge, light, airy, beautifully furnished with beds vast & comfortable. Interior designer has done a great job with lots of areas to sit, slump or lay down. Rooms have private pool and magnificent view of the beach and sunset. Restaurant and bar area is called Harbour terrace and is raised above the beach. A perfect spot from which to survey the beach and listen to the waves with a cocktail or meal (all at a fair price given the quality of the resort). Harbour restaurant at lunch also offers great tapas, which are twice as big as in Barcelona and just as tasty. Service was great but did not have time to try the Spa. The Harbour Terrace is just a perfect spot and the whole experience was genuinely World class.

Room Tip: Ask for a room as high up the hill as possible.

We stayed here for 6 nights in March 2011 for our honeymoon, it was stunning! The rooms are incredible...huge private pool, sunken lounge, open air bedroom and bathroom. We had breakfast in our room every day. We hate Phuket but we love this hotel, you must go to the Thai restaurant at Katathani as the food is excellent. The staff are fantastic and give superb service. This is serious luxury and you will feel very spoilt and relaxed!

I was in Phuket last year October and I though i experienced it all. I stayed at Sri Panwa, and I can dare say, for a new resort, The Shore can certainly challenge Sri Panwa head on.

I checked in late, and the receptionist, Sopita greeted us with one of the warmest smile i've seen in whole Thailand. Check-in was swift and we were sent to our villa minutes later via a buggy.

the resort compound is filled with lush vegetation, and very well taken care of. simply clean and fresh :)

The villas, is exactly like what u can see in their website. Try getting seaview villas. A bit more expensive, but its worth all the money. I mean, how can anyone even put a price tag to an amazing view? its priceless :)

I do love for the fact that the aircon will turn off automatically if u open the sliding doors.

There was once our aromatherapy lamp light bulb went out, so we called for a replacement. Albeit the heavy rain, housekeeping came in swiftly. we felt bad for calling her at that very wet moment, but she said its ok and keep on smiling and repeatedly saying its ok. :)

I love music so much. However, I would appreciate it if The Shore would install a bigger LCD TV and a proper speaker system throughout the villa itself. The current LCD TV is waaaay too small for a standard.. installing a proper speaker system has almost become a standard to most leading hotels and resorts all over the world lately. Not that its a big problem for me tho, but it does help when u just need to stay in the villa when it rains or simply too hot to go outside.

apart from that, this resort is simply amazing. I would like to say thank you to Sopita and Mario for making our trip memorable ya. We talked about u guys and the shore still until today.

I read in previous reviews that the service was inconsistent. I am glad to report that 11months into its opening, service at The Shore is now unparalleled. My partner and I are celebrating our 10th anniversary and decided to take 2 short honeymoonish breaks. This trip is part 1 of our extended celebration. Next weekend we are off to St Regis Bali, and hopefully I will be inspired enough by their service to write another review!

Back to The Shore....

There are 3 types of villa namely seaview, poolview and 2-bedroom. The sea and pool views are same sized and differ only in view from bedroom. They are all gorgeously laid out. The website does not seem to do justice to the quality and beauty of the rooms, equipped with plunge pool, sunken cabana, open concept bathroom and sheltered patio with sofa-dining area. It is gorgeous in white cream tones and loads of mango wood everywhere.

Breakfast can be served in your room or at The Harbour. We chose to eat at the Harbour since we only had the pool view villa, even though it already cost THB17k per night inclusive bfast and all taxes. Not cheap by any means though you do get tremendous amount of space ... all 130sqm of it.

The Harbour overlooks a lovely infinity pool approximately 40m in length laid with deep blue tiles. Breakfast variety is rather limited but all good quality stuff. The staff remember your preferences from the 2nd morning. You can also request for fresh juice to accompany you after your breakfast as you dip into the pool.

The hilly and humid terrain means even the very fit will prefer the buggy but the walk down from the villas in the morning can be very pleasant and also its the best way to take in the amazing flora landscaping. Different types of varigated vegetation add loads of colour without resorting to flowering plants, making the landscape perennially colourful.

My partner unfortunately fell ill with fever on the 3rd day and i asked the receptionist for paracetamol, which they provided. That afternoon they also delivered a get well basket of flowers to our villa. I was touched!

The best part of the room is the overall exclusivity (you and be completely n a k e d in your private plunge pool and no one but your lover will see you). The overall design is contemporary and classy, filled with furniture that looked like those you see in showrooms featuring martha stewart / barbara barry. The bathroom layout really takes the cake as it is the size of a decent hotel bedroom anywhere else in asia, twin sinks and even a standalone bath tub propped up with 4 silver hoofed feet.

Living in the humid tropics on a hill by the sea, it is understandable there will be some mozzies, geckos, cicadas and ants but they add to the charm. Especially the singing of the cicadas at sundown. It is a sure way to lull oneself into a pre-dinner nap. You can leave all 3 sides of the room open by sliding doors (the ac auto shuts when doors are open - how green) and let the hilly seabreeze billow through the master bedroom.

Room service is delish (again menu is not extensive but not pricey either, with thai mains averaging THB300 never taking more than 30mins. You get unlimited bottled water at this place and also complimentary lavazza capsules for the in room espresso machine. The complimentary wifi completes the icing on the cake.

There is cable with star movies and hbo and the standard foreign channels monde tv, bbc, nippon etc.. a well stocked dvd library with the lastest movies and a gym with fairly modern equipment (freeweights, universal, 1 teadmill and 2 steppers). But if you prefer outdoors, you have the entire kata noi beach and the rest of amazing phuket at your doorstep.

We do not drink but The Shore has their own wine cellar called The Cove. Impressive.

The next comment is rather odd to some of you, but i must say their staff uniform had a lovely fragrance (very clever of the management because of the many times you sit behind the buggy driver you only smell the fresh laundry scent). Lovely. really lovely.

The only thing i would suggest is ... offer more promotiomal rates! Oh and the lemongrass bathsalt is fantastic but the shampoo and showergel is too dry for my hair and the complimentary toothbrush is ridiculous (cannot last more than 1 usage). I wish the turndown came with complimentary truffles or cookies... But i am not complaining...

you can take a 2 minute short walk (use use their buggy) to the orchid restaurant along the main road just outside the resort (not part of hotel) for phuket seafood. very affordable typically under THB1k for 2 without wine. For a more classy experience, go to mon tri boathouse grill at main kata road (30mins walking distance from hotel) for exceptional service, wines and lovely lovely food - their bitter chocolate souffle is the best i have ever had. My partner's desert came in 3 scoops of tropical sherbet namely apple, tamarind and lemongrass. Mon Tri's dinner for 2 without wine was THB3.6k so it is really affordable (especially when compared to the room rate!) hahaha

Room Tip: take villa 8855 for more hillside view

We have just returned Jan, 2011. The Villa’s are beautifully appointed, with high ceilings and infinity pool which my 16yr daughter thought she was a princess swimming in her private pool. The level of comfort has been the best we have experienced around the world. The beds are so extremely comfortable, luxurious with feather duvet . The bathroom was beautiful with a breath taking view of Kata beach.
The silver service at La Scala Italian restaurant is amazing. The six restaurants, which were part of the long stay package, offered the most exquisite cuisine and service.
Snorkeling within a few footsteps of the resort was a big highlight .The colourful fish really captured hours of our attention.
Ending the afternoon with the relaxing treatments at the Serenity Spa where the skills of the professional staff are highly recommended.
The staff’s attention to detail and quality service was second to none. They were always very helpful, polite and attentive to our requirements.
Certainly never a shortage of things to do.Jet Ski, para sailing, cooking classes, pool games.
We found the best shopping was at Karon Beach, very short taxi ,10- 15min ride at night after dinner was fun. Prices and Thai people are so lovely. We did take a taxi to Patong Beach for a bit of shopping.I wasnt impressed. Not really our thing that enviroment with our young teenage girl with us.Prices are higher at Patong & weekend market.
If you are looking for the perfect holiday , book The Shore Katathani.
We certainly will be returning in the near future.
TIp !! Take your own snorkel gear & flippers. reef shoes to use at hotel beach & Island day trips.
