Great staff, more importantly, fantastic room, very modern and spacious. All the facilities are great and I especially liked the swimming pool looping round to the plunge pools. Make sure you get a room with access to the private pools, it's worth it. It's 200 Baht to Karon market and only 400 baht to Patong. I'd definately stay here again & I plan too!

We selected Metadee purely on reading other reviews and we weren't disappointed. The resort is very central, clean and the staff are friendly. We had no problems whatsoever with check-in - fast and efficient. We stayed in a pool view room which we loved - we could see Big Budah from our balcony. The rooms are a good size and the bathrooms are huge. The bed was comfy and we slept very well every night.

There is a long pathway to the resort which was absolutely no problem and there was always a buggy to take us up or down when required.

After spending time on beautiful Laem Tong beach on Phi Phi - we didn't spend any time at all on Kata Beach - it is totally overcrowded. Sun-loungers cover the entire beach - around five rows deep - horrible. Instead we spent a lot of time exploring phuket and relaxing by the pool. The pool as everyone else has mentioned is lovely and the resort is surrounded by tree covered hills - a right little oasis! The staff were very friendly - particularly Golf the barman! Take note Metadee - hang onto your friendly staff!

Metadee is situated around midway along the main stretch where all the restaurants/shops are and there are heaps of tuk tuks/taxis at the end of the driveway to take you further afield. Also had a good massage from the girls in the salon at the end of the driveway! Laundry services everywhere - around 70 baht for 2 kilos - washed and ironed and back within 24 hours - so no excuse to over-pack.

Found a fantastic roadside barbeque a couple of hundred metres up the road where they smoke whole racks of ribs and then cook them on the bbq - priced according to weight - yum!!

Metadee is great value for money and a peaceful haven away from the main road. We wouldn't hesitate to return there in the future.

Room Tip: We selected a pool view room as it was the cheapest and we didn't want anyone clattering around...

We stayed with the Metadee for 5 nights in the middle of December, the drive to the hotel isn't the best and the reception area etc could do with some improvement, however the rooms are big and roomy and the breakfast is varied and the staff are always on hand with coffee and tea, no complaints, the hotel it's self is around a 10 mins walk to the beach and the hotel offers a bus every hour, we didn't use it but its useful for those that would, on check out we had some problems with they charging for a mini bar we didn't use, and struggled as a lot of the reception staff don't speak the best English, it did ruin the stay a little for us and based on that wouldn't return.

While booking, 8 rooms + grand villa suite for 6 families (with 9 kids under 12), everything was good - very friendly and welcoming attitude. They did forget to mention though, that they are not really kid friendly. When 9 kids play together in the pool, it can never be quiet, and they made us feel very uncomfortable there. We did face a few other problems:
We booked the grand villa for 3 adults, 3 kids under 11 and a baby. Needless to say, everything was known in advance. Yet, after getting there, we found out that the "grand villa" is a compound of 3 different cabins. That meant, that our kids had to sleep on their own! For us, it couldn't work and we ended up having 4 beds and a baby cot in one cabin. The evening we arrived, I asked for the baby cot and got one with black mould stains on it and it smelled of urine. I asked to replace it and got the the answer that that's all they have and it will be replaced the day after. The day after, we got a new cot that had no mattress to fit it, so they used a folded blanket, from which the baby kept sliding off. Only for the third night, after complaining, I got a proper baby cot.
Regarding the food - one word - terrible! Starting with the pizzas and finishing with the steaks, we wanted to send it all back. I will give them credit for a nice breakfast.
That was my 7th trip to Thailand, 4th with my husband and kids, and it's the first time I have something so bad to say. If
you accept a booking for 6 families, you cannot expect them to be quiet and you should still make them feel wanted and welcome.

On a recent trip back to Phuket, I stayed here with my family. We had a private pool villa which was wonderful for the kids to jump in and out of 100 times per day. The beach cottage decor and feel is very relaxing as soon as you step inside. Outside the villa the gardens were all kept very well and the main pool is awesome, winding its way all around the resort. Staff are very friendly, especially helping with the kids while we ate breakfast.
All in we were sad to leave and will surely return. Thank you to the Management and the team.

Room Tip: Go for the private pool villa....so much space and nice little pool.

After reading so many good reviews about this resort, we decided to book! We stayed for 8 nights from dec 4 - dec 12.

First impressions as we rocked up we were a bit shocked, the long dirty driveway that leads up to the resort isn't very appealing.

From first checking in we found that the service was not that great.. They don't speak a lot of English and the girl was
Taking other phone calls whilst trying to check us in which I found a bit rude.

Then finally we were taken by buggy
To our hotel room, where the man showed us around and showed us where the lights where and how to work the jacuzzi/bubbles in our pool.. This was lovely but the man stood around waiting for us to tip him?! Which we didn't because I thought showing us to our room was a normal thing in all hotels/resorts!

Our private pool villa was great, so big with a huge bathroom and separate dressing room. The private pool is bigger than we expected but is always cold as the sun does not get in as it is covered but lots of trees.

The first morning we went to get breakfast at the buffet, we found it quite average as there was not much variety, mainly Asian dishes and not a lot of choice. They didn't change the variety at all during our stay, so for me as I do not eat a lot of Asian food, especially for breakfast, there was not a lot of variety for me.

I am a big coffee drinker, and I went to the bar to get a cappuccino made (which I was paying for) and the staff on a number of occasions seemed very annoyed to make this for me and kept me waiting about 10-15mins to make it.

The main pool was beautiful and this was probably the highlight of the whole resort. There are plenty of sun chairs around and the pool is big enough so you don't have to swim right near other guests.

Service around the hotel was below average, I expected them to be a lot more welcoming and greet you when walking past but found they were all a little sour.

Restaurant food and bar was quite expensive and not that great standard either.

The buggy service was great!

All in all I wouldn't recommend this hotel nor would I stay here again. For the price you pay for this hotel I expected a lot more!

We thoroughly enjoyed an incredible 11 night stay at the Metadee Resort & Villas, from start to finish we were made to feel like VIP guests, we were greeted at upon check in by the General Manager Tommy who is absolutely delightful.

The location of the resort is just across the road from beautiful Kata Beach, yet it’s set far enough back off the main road that it is perfectly tranquil, surrounded by the beautiful Phuket mountains.

There is a driveway the leads off the main round & into the lush grounds of the Metadee, but this does not need to be walked at any time as there is a 24 hour buggy service that can be used to taxi you from the main road to the resort & vice a versa, there are also complementary hourly buses that run from the Metadee to Kata beach also.

The room we booked was a private pool room which had complementary wine, fresh fruit & nuts. The room was breathtaking, an incredibly comfortable bed, a huge bathroom with an amazing bathtub & an outdoor shower (which we loved) but the highlight for us was having our own private pool.

Complementary water & nuts are provided daily & the rooms serviced meticulously.

The restaurant on the premises has fabulous delicious food at comparable prices to the outside restaurants.

The resorts main pool is huge & crystal clean, it’s big enough to find areas where you can just soak, without running onto any of the other resorts guests.

The breakfast is plentiful with things like an omelette station, amazing fresh fruit, pastries, fresh juices & tons of hot western food & asian.

The Metadee's grounds, rooms & facilities are all meticulously clean & looked after to perfection. There is a small gym, which contains the essentials, & they also have a day spa on sight.

The staff are all warm & smiling they greet you by name, they seems to be more than happy to make your experience a memorable one, big thanks to the resorts general manager Tommy, & all the wonderful Metadee especially staff Hanii & Kratib.

Our overall experience at the Metadee was tremendous, The Metadee Resort is an exclusive boutique resort experience as opposed to large impersonal resorts, we much prefer this type of resort.

We would return to The Metadee any day, it’s a haven where you cannot help but relax & enjoy yourself in wonderfully beautiful surrounding.
