“Great Place to Escape”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

We stayed here 5 nights and it was excellent. Staff were fantastic and facilities were great with everything you'd require available. The only slight issue was there were a few ants in the room but nothing major unless you leave food laying around.

Good location as it is situated slightly of the main strip of Kata and only a short trip from Karon (5min) and Patong (20min) by Tuk-Tuk. It's also walking distance (10mins) from Kata Beach which a great beach, some may complain that you need to walk past a canal on the way but it isn't too bad really.

Breakfast was average but enough to keep you going for the morning and with plenty of places to eat around it there are always alternatives if you choose not to have that breakfast. Also we really enjoyed the bar near the foyer as they served very good drinks especially long island ice teas which were only THB170 during happy hour.

The other facilities were great too like the pool and we really enjoyed the Thai Massages from the two lovely ladies who do the massage and pedicures etc for the girls. It's also worthwhile to try dip your feet in water and feed the fish.

The airport transports were also great as they arranged pickup and dropoff for us to the airport however if you're looking at using this service, notify them a few days in advance or else there is little chance you'll get one on the day.

Overall highly recommend The Beach Boutique House and would definitely stay here again at my next return to Phuket.

This hotel manager does not understand that customer service is supposed to start even before clients arrive at the hotel... Organising a small tour between Phuket and Ko Phi Phi, we had to book different hotels. Based on erroneous information, we booked The Beach Boutique House which finally appeared to be 60 minutes away from the port where we we needed to be very early the following day. We directly (within 30 minutes after booking) tried to cancel explaining the case to the manager but no way. 1 night for 6 people charged. Not even a discount. Don't book there unless you are 110% confident...

We did not stay at the hotel, but just around the corner. We had a few meals at the Beach Boutique and liked the airy, cleanliness of the foyer area. The hotel is in a sidestreet off the main drag and quiter.
We walked past the spa every day until one day I decided to try their foot massage. Well after that we went daily and tried all their different treatments. My favourite was the Aloe Vera massage after I got a little sunburnt.
The small spa is on the side of the hotel next to the pool area - there are two ladies that know their business when it comes to proper Thai massages. You won't be disappointed. Same prices as the side street ones and better by a million miles!!
I hate being made to feel like I'm on a conveyer belt or just a moneybag like I sometimes feel in the many massage/nail/feet places where the girls call out to you. You won't feel like that here.

This spa is very dignified and you go in there and forget about all your worries and life hassles.
Both ladies are good, but specially the older lady is very, very good, respectful and very knowledgeable. She sorted out my husband shoulder issues.
The two rooms are super clean. Good aircon, nice atmosphere. Afterwards you are given a little fruit & hot tea. We gave them happily a tip every day and on our last day I bought them a small gift to say thank you. They were so happy and gave us in turn a small souvenir which we treasure.
We went every single day!!! Very, very worthy!! Do though make a booking !!!!

I had spent a lot of time looking at hotels to stay in on our 4 week trip around thailand and decided on this for our 2 nights in phuket. The hotel is a colonial style with a good modern, contemporary decor idea and almost feels like being at home. The main pool a good size and the hotel provide beach towels and free wifi. The hotel is set on an 'estate' amongst other hotels and apartments - on what looks almost like a plastic film set (hard to describe but very inetresting none the less).

The reception area is small and we had to wait 30 mins to check in as so many people had arrived at once on a package holiday, however the bellboy was fantastic and very welcoming ( a credit to this hotel as quite a few staff found it so hard to crack a smile).

Restaurant / bar is small but sold burgers etc at a reasonable price, but the breakfast (served across the road on the second floor of a small building) was dire. Staff were miserable, the room was tiny and over crowded, the selection was poor and the atmosphere unappealing - my advice would be to not take breakfast facility and eat else where.

Location - it is a good 15 min walk to the beach. Which is a chore in the heat, along a stinky canal path which was daunting at night. There are no beach front restaurants here - rather the action centres around a strip of road about 10 mins from the hotel. The strip includes, atm's, restautrants, bars, tailors, tour/ trip shops, massage parlours and a Starbucks! If you do stay here check out the Dino bar/ restaurant for a comical night - the kids are sure to love it.

Now the rooms - we were upgraded (we booked superior room) well if that was an upgrade! The room was dirty, the bathroom windows had been borded up and smelt of sewage and the place was crawling with ants - on the 2nd floor. Mostly the place just looks old - it needs a good scrub and a lick of paint.

The worst for us however was the building site going on opposite our block - making it impossible to sit and relax by the pool - we actually visited another hotels pool in the centre of the 'estate' which was much nicer anyway to get away from the noise. The hotel can do nothing about this construction work i know and it looks like it is going to be going on for some time - and they did provide a free lunch for us as compensation after i mentioned our dissapointment, but that said they really should make people aware - the room was not cheap, by thailand standards, and i would have been within my rights to ask for a refund.

Room Tip: Try dino bar or hop in a tuk tuk to Karon beach and the hotel on the front with fire stands at the f...

This hotel has major communication issues. Three emails sent to the front office in the days before arrival to request airport pick-up were not replied to. Furthermore, the management had failed to read our note through booking.com regarding our room preference. This was a source of major inconvenience given that we were travelling with a toddler. On checkout we phoned for help with bags three times. Each call was unanswered.

Standards of cleanliness could be better. Both rooms we stayed in were littered with random hairs. The bathroom stank like a rat had died in the U-bend. Our ground floor room had a big mosquito problem. Yes, we are in the tropics and what can we expect? However, it did not help that the cleaner left the doors wide open with curtains pulled back each time she cleaned. Cue restless nights.

Room service order messed up and food arrived cold. They were never able to provide us with enough towels. No Wifi at all in the whole place - not even the lobby! This is extremely poor given the amount of competition around. There is a huge building project underway right across the road, creating a lot of noise by the pool.

Staff morale seems very low here. A smile at breakfast was hard to find.

Clientele is now dominated by a single nationality of package holidaymakers.

We stayed here three years ago and had a great time. This place now, however, is a shadow of its former self. We shall not return, nor recommend.

Room Tip: Don't bother contacting hotel with room preferences - they won't reply.

We enjoyed:
- location
- interior
- breakfast
- room includes everything you need (safe, kettle, hairdryer, dressing gowns, slippers, fridge) except iron

Drawbacks:
- ants! even on the third floor! but only if you leave some food
- small room (Superior 20.5 Sq.M)
- contrasting shower
- room cleaning

I recommend scandinavian restaurant near the hotel!

We stayed there for a week in a Studio Suite room in hotel's Wing 2. Totally we had 2 rooms with 4 sleeping place for 2 of us. Every room has its own air-conditioner that was very good to have during hot hours. Rooms are clean, every day we had contemporary bottled water in a fridge. Kata beach is in 5-10 minutes walk, Karona beach is about 15-20 minutes walk. Twice a week there is a market just across the road to the restaurant. Breakfast is quite ok - there are always some fruits, like pineapple, watermelon, melon and banana, eggs, sausages, etc.. at least we never were disappointed with it. There are 2 nice pools in the hotel. Hotel's staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a massage center in the hotel - my wife is quite happy with them. Also there are plenty cafes around the hotel in just a few minutes walk with nice food and great prices. So, there is only 1 thing we were not too happy with - quite expensive (and also quite slow) WiFi, but it is ok for those who does not plan to spend time in browsing internet.
Over all - we will be happy to return there again, since our stay there was really good.
