“Great Place”
Reviewed October 23, 2013 for a stay in October 2013

We spend 7 days. We were 8 .
Is close to Rute, great place to relax, pool was cold but some of the group used it October great weather, the local person that we call if any problem was prom and helpful.
The owner told us about the Paella and it was great, actually we got like 3 meals out of this , also we ask for wine and bread since we were arriving on Sunday.
Will recommend , we took day trips, is best to approached from Rute and Lucena, is much better way less curves on road.

“Lovely Casa Ava”
Reviewed October 7, 2013 for a stay in September 2013

If you love gold taps and fancy bling than Casa Ava is not for you. But if you appreciate beautiful views, tranquillity and to be the guest of someone with taste then Casa Ava is an ideal villa to spend time in. We stayed with our extended family for 8 days and loved the pool, the BBQ, eating outside, the wonderful vine full of grapes and the quirky charming house. The local village of Rute is very friendly and away from it all and of course one is so close to Granada and other sites of historical interest. Wonderful holiday and we look forward to returning to Casa Ava in the hopefully not too distant future. The local agent Sue was extremely helpful and Isabelle was a fabulous extra as our cleaner. Finally the owner Bonnie was extremely responsive and went out of her way to arrange extras for us. Nothing was too much trouble. Viva Casa Ava

“Brilliant villa with a great pool”
Reviewed April 21, 2013 for a stay in April 2013

We stayed at Casa Ava with our family and friends and it was perfect. It slept 9 adults comfortably with lots of bathrooms and a large kitchen and dining table we could all sit around. The outside space is great, a bbq area, outdoor picnic tables to seat everyone and a 10m swimming pool with space to sit around! Great location for day trips to the local towns as well as Granada, Seville and Cordoba which we visited. Convenient supermarket and cafes in Rute with friendly locals. Really close to the national park and lake with inspiring views. Great villa, great location, great price, great weather, we will be back!

“Casa Ava is the perfect family villa that memories are made of.”
Reviewed October 24, 2012 for a stay in August 2012

They grow up fast so we have always prioritised family holidays and somehow managed to find the money to take them. But it has always been difficult finding somewhere away from the madding crowds where you can just be with your family and enjoy the simple things - eating together, exploring amazing countryside, reading books whilst they play in the pool and sipping cava on a quiet terrace whilst they sleep up stairs. Not much to ask but unless you have £10,000 to spend or don't mind the hotel compromise this is quite hard to find at a good price. And lets face it its nice to go somewhere where you actually have to speak a bit of Spanish and they aren't playing Only Fools and Horses on a loop in the local "Pub".

Casa Ava is in an amazing location with a very private pool you have all to yourself. Masses of room, all the things you could need and amazing views. I can sit on the terrace with a coffee for hours quite happy.

I am looking forward to arranging an extended family visit as you can have so much fun in a place like this, enjoying the real Spain.

“Casa Ava - A great place for a break”
Reviewed October 6, 2012 for a stay in September 2012

I have just returned from Casa Ava where I went with a group of friends for a couple of weeks holiday. We had a great time swimming in the large, modern pool, sunbathing on the terrace, and enjoying the countryside (all those olive trees!). The house is homely and well appointed and is in a beautiful location with wonderful views and total privacy. Sue and Pablo (the local agents for Casa Ava) were brilliant. We arrived on a Sunday and all the shops were shut but they had left us emergency supplies until the Mercadona (local supermarket) was open in the morning. All in all a wonderful, relaxing holiday.

“Beautiful house in need of a little TLC”
Reviewed August 17, 2012 for a stay in July 2012

Beautiful house with stunning scenery, but definitely in need of a spruce up and some TLC. It was great being able to escape the scorching heat by going inside the house or one of the shaded areas, plus the pool provided a lovely place for adults to cool down, as well as many hours of amusement for the children (5, 10 & 14). The surrounding area was possibly a little too remote, but if you are with a large family/group you will enjoy the privacy of the house. Overall we had a lovely holiday, but we were a little disappointed at the cleanliness of the house upon arrival and felt that the quality of such things as bedding, towels, crockery, etc were below average.

Management Response
Sep 12, 2012
I have spoken with the clients who stated "the house was beautiful & they had a wonderful time". I have addressed the issues they have raised re cleanliness of the house, the cleaners were still cleaning the property due to a late departure of the previous guests. I have apologised and spoken with my local agent and changed the booking schedule so there is always a day between departure & arrival to avoid any client discomfort. I have also left information for clients so they know where extra pillows & towels are kept. I have replaced the mismatched glasses as they were broken by the previous guests so they are now in keeping with Casa Ava.

“Beautiful villa in relaxing surroundings”
Reviewed March 2, 2012 for a stay in May 2011

I would definitely recommend Casa Ava to anyone wanting a peaceful break in a beautiful villa in a very Spanish part of Andalusia. The bedrooms are large and very clean, the pool and patio are great for relaxing and dining al fresco, and we loved the fact we weren't overlooked and really felt we could relax away from it all!

The area is really quiet, but Rute was a short drive away with a supermarket, bars and restaurants, and Malaga and Granada were only an hour away so close enough for a couple of day trips. Overall a great holiday, so thank you so much! x
