“Very disappointed/”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

My husband and I booked into this motel for one night as we were attending a party close by. We were very disappointed with the room. The room and bed smelt, it was in poor condition, there was no shampoo which is always supplied in other motels we stay, the cups were not clean. I would not recommend any of my friends to stay here and we will never book there again.

We just stayed here overnight on the way thru to Canberra and found it had all we needed. The beds were comfortable it was easy to find and access and the location was great for our needs. The young man in the office was very friendly and helped with all our queries. The bathroom was functional and clean as was the main bedroom. If you need a short stay in Newcastle and don't want to spend a fortune then this ticks the boxes.

Service friendly...but it didn't excuse the bird crap in the sheets and windows open that didn't lock (they were open to try rid the stench of the mouldy bathroom..didn't.. work!!) Over all was just a flimsy pillow for the night..the blankets with cigarette burns were warm though..

This would have to be the WORST hotel I've ever stayed in!! Rusty toaster; no plates or cutlery. If you did want to use the toaster or the kettle you had to unplug the microwave first. Bed pushed up against the wall so you had to get in and out one at a time or climb the length of the bed, Stained pillowcases, blankets so old they had cigarette burn holes in them. A strange person hair inside the sheets. A shower that SCREAMED every time you turned it on.

Thankfully only stayed one night. Our room was very cosy... in fact so cosy that one side of the queen bed was pushed against the wall, very difficult to access for me. But the best, was that there were NO bed lights. On discovering this my husband saw the owner who gave us one desk light,,, still not good enough, though being an enterprising sort of fellow my husband managed to wedge it between the bed and wall and centre it so that we both could read. The linen on the bed was OK but obviously well worn and not pressed.
On the positive side, it was quiet so we did get a good nights sleep and the breakfast was tasty.
The pictures on the website do not factually represent the rooms.

Stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment overnight, and it was massive. Large living area downstairs, with a double bed in an open room at the top of the stairs and a separate bedroom with bunk. The bathroom was clean and modern. At just under $200 for the night though, I thought it was a bit expensive for a motel in Newy. You could get a decent 4 star apartment in a capital city for less $$. With this said, the apartment was large and comfortable for a longer stay, although I couldnt justify the cost.

The apartment was right at the front of the motel, so there was noticeable road noise - But not much can be done about that.

There was a pool onsite, and the water was a nice temp.

The bathroom was clean and the sheets were clean, which was great. But there were small cockroaches everywhere, including inside the kettle - so we couldn't even have a cup of tea. Also they turn the lights off outside at some point which is very unhelpful and dangerous. We came back at 11pm and their sign was not lit up so we missed the driveway - twice. Also there were no lights on at all in the driveway or carpark and as it was a steep walk down, really quite dangerous. Wouldn't stay there again. Not worth $124.
