We stayed for three nights in the House Keepers Quarters, which is self catering. Immediately we were made to feel incredibly welcome by Manor, who met us as we drove in. After showing us around our apartment, we unpacked, and were blown away by how much space we had (there only being two of us). After a quick break, we ventured out to see the surrounding area. The Old House is situated in a little village which is so peaceful and quiet that London felt a million miles away! The facilities at the Old House are fantastic, and we urge you to make use of Manor and Ann's lovely garden during your stay. Manor and Ann were the perfect hosts, and The Old House is brilliant. We had made the trip specifically to learn more about the area as we are getting married in Somerset next year, and would definitely recommend The Old House as a place to stay.

We stayed for one night in June and had a really lovely stay. Booking was easy and the welcome warm and friendly. Manor recommended a local pub for dinner that evening and kindly booked a table for us. We stayed in very comfortable Coleridge Suite which was beautifully furnished and had a great collection of books. Breakfast was delicious particularly the fruit salad. The garden was a real sun-trap and it was a treat to sit and read in the summerhouse. The Old House was the perfect base for exploring Nether Stowey and the Quantocks - a fascinating part of the country - and I hope we'll return soon.

We stayed over for two nights at this lovely B&B and i don't know what else I can say that hasn't already been said by others.we were welcomed by Ann on arrival and shown to the room which was exactly as described on their web site. Everything was clean and well thought out, the bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was very good and nothing was too much trouble for Manor.
The garden is a beautiful place where you can sit and enjoy the peace.
We would definitely recommend this place and use it again if we are in the area.

As a family we took over the two self catering accomodations for a week in early May and used as our 'base' for our son's wedding in a nearby village. Set in a lovely village with a truly wonderful garden this proved to be a very successful stay. The owners were more than helpful, asking the local post office to open specially for us to enjoy a great ' bank holiday monday' breakfast and even upgraded the 'newly married ' couple to the very attractive garden room. Grandchildren loved the garden as we all did ! Local general store well equipped for a self catering stay and plenty of good places to eat in the surrounding area.

First of all my friend and I had the great fortune to be offered the top floor self-contained suite as the B&B rooms were already taken when we booked, here we found two spacious bedrooms, one illuminated with morning light, the other with late afternoon and evening glow. Both were lovely rooms, which along with the comfort of the generous proportions and attractive roofing of the sitting room, its garden and roof views over Nether Stowey, all were a delight. Everything was there to make things easy, and we could get on with the busy planned days we had gone there for. Furthermore because of our particular interest both Manor and Ann were generous with time and hospitality so that we could visit all that showed of the Tom Poole period in this important historic home. The gardens are a very major attraction, later summer evenings for a moment's relaxation proffers a further visit. We have every intention to return, with husbands next time. My only quibble was for a brighter reading light option by the bed, and the fact that we missed out on the famous Ann breakfasts being in the self-catering part, but we were told about them by folk about the village ! This is B & B at its best.

Room Tip: I was warned that my room overlooked the village clock, in fact some couple of hundred yards away...

What a great place for a visit to this beautiful region! Our room was wonderful, with a very comfortable bed, excellent facilities throughout, and an excellent breakfast to send us off at the start of each day! Ann and Manor worked very hard to make sure that everything was just right and they had a careful eye on all of the detail that makes any visit so special. The gardens offer a restful surrounding to the Old House, such an historic setting. You don't need to be fascinated with Coleridge or his poetry to enjoy a stay here. We shall be making a return visit!

Room Tip: Both rooms, the Coleridge Suite, and Sarah's room offer great value. The suite is larger but Sar...

My girlfriend and I stayed at The Old House for two nights in April. We arrived at 8pm and knowing the pub next door stopped serving food shortly after Manor had kindly called ahead to let them know we were coming and we had a great first evening. We’d never stayed in this area before so a bit apprehensive as to what we can do. Manor and Ann couldn't have been more helpful. We were greeted as we pulled up and showed around house. The Coleridge Suite we stayed in was fantastic. Huge room with a living room area and well supplied bathroom. The whole place had a really homely feel and the 1 acre garden was stunning. Our breakfast order was taken the night before and we had what we’d asked for and more with Manor always offering anything extra. Not knowing the area we were given some great ideas for the morning including a fantastic walk down on Kilve beach and a little stroll up to Nether Stowey Castle. All in all we couldn’t find a negative thing to say and will most certainly be back!
