We stayed on a Thursday evening as my wife had business next morning a few miles away. I had booked a superior room and the website said they had all recently been refurbished.
The bedroom was quite small but OK for one night. Bathroom was tiny with the toilet roll holder hanging off the wall. The old fashined windows did not close properly meaning it was fairly cold in there. In the morning there was a small pool of water on the window ledge as it had rained overnight. At 75.00 for the room I felt it was a little expensive.
When we came down to breakfast at about 8.30 there were just 2 people in the restaurant, so not busy. We both ordered different 3 egg omlettes. Considering the kitchen must have been quiet they took longer than expected to arrive. The waitress bought them out and placed them on the table.I was so taken aback at the colour of mine I failed to say anything immediately. It was not just overcooked but had virtually been burnt, a very dark brown.
The waitress had at this point dissapeared as she probably had nothing else to do in the room with the other two people having now finished their breakfast. My wife did eat her tomatoe omlette which was simply overcooked not destroyed.
I then had to take my wife to her appointment and return later to check out.
My concern here was how could any kitchen send out an omlette thart was clearly inedible when they were quiet. !
When checking out I advised reception of this simply to be told sorry about that !
