“A nice and friendly french bistrot .”
Reviewed May 27, 2013

Staying at the Hotel de Germigney for a few days, we decided to try the other place in Port-Lesney belonging to the same owner. 700 meters down the road to the river, we found the very pleasant bistrot to our taste. The food was interesting and good (sorry for the Brits, we had delicious frog legs...), the raviolis filled with beef cheek meat were fantastic, the desert a must (DO try the Paris-Brest, worth the visit...!), but the wine list was undertoned (had we known, they would have sent us a good bottle directly from the hotel, so don't hesitate to ask...). The service was pleasant, although we had to wait a bit. A good adress !

We love this place. Very good service, food is always fantastic. Atmosphere very French and relaxing, no matter who is eating there.

“Great food, no friendly greeting though”
Reviewed October 21, 2012 via mobile

Needless to say we went there because of the Raymond Blanc program. although we had booked in advance, manager was very unwelcoming, and then showed us to the back room with just 4 tables ( when there was space in the main restaurant), and it lacked atmosphere.
Food wise my wife had the menu for 25 euros which was great, and good value, I ate a la carte and had the bacon and cream starter followed by the famous chicken in vin Jaune with morilles, served with tagliatelle. it was delicious. my first choice of wine was not to my liking and I am pleased to say the charming waitress changed it to a more palatable bottle without a problem, the manager still seemed impatient with us though. The desserts were fine and after them, now that we were leaving, the manager tried to be friendly but too late by then.
My advice is go enjoy the food and the lovely village and don't take any notice of the patrons manner, and insist on a table either outside or in the main restaurant upon booking.

“worth the trip”
Reviewed August 7, 2012

Again this was a Raymond Blanc inspired trip, and well worth it. Just a short distance from a fabulous hotel we arrived for lunch and was sat down in the place of our choice and served with an aperitif. Service was excellent friendly and professional could not fault this The food again was also excellent and well priced. Another box to tick and well worth and travelling involved.
a wonderful experience in a quaint little village next to the river Lou, where it is said that bathing in these waters helps to live healthy at a ripe old age. Be sure to take a dip!

“excellent food and service”
Reviewed July 29, 2012 via mobile

Was inspired to visit here after seeing the restaurant as part of Raymond Blanc: the hungry Frenchman program on BBC. The food was refined and presents excellent value for money. We paid €26 for the menu with 3 courses. The wine was equally well priced. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend a visit, well worth the money. A very pleasant afternoon!
