A charming small hotel. The room was clean and the bathroom well fitted out. The food was acceptable and reflected regional specialities. The two waiters had an interesting sense of humour...in French!!

We booked a one night half board package as we were looking to visit a champagne house in Les Riceys the following day. From the moment we arrived, the staff were not welcoming, when we were shown to our room the door was opened, key thrown on the table and the staff member left without a word. After a quick freshen up for dinner, we were shown to a table set for us, but then ignored for over 30 minutes while French speaking guests were entertained. Attempts to get the attention of the staff were ignored for another 10 minutes, wine finally brought to the table but not poured or offered for tasting, 3 requests for bottled water with dinner were ignored and only given to us at the end of the meal. It was a shame the staff didn't have any desire to show us good service as the food was enjoyed when it finally arrived

The next morning, I believe breakfast was served by the family that own the hotel, and they were pleasant. Breakfast was good quality and enjoyed. The rooms were basic, clean overall although the bin in the loo hadn't been emptied after the previous guest. The wifi didn't seem to work. The pool cover was on, and not being used, but the area lacked maintenance so we would unlikely have used it if available

This place has potential, but given the level of service, we will unlikely return.

Basic, clean hotel with good reception and restaurant. Ideal for a trip when you want to visit the wider champagne area in France outside the busy centre of Reims. The hotel is situated in a very quiet and idyllic village of Les Riceys. The Rose des Riceys is a top champagne.

I think the other reviewers haven't noticed (or their French not quite up to scratch) but we found the (tall, slim, young) waitress a hoot with a wicked sense of humour and the other older guy was very dry too. Anyway, the beds are large, comfortable with large bathrooms (separate loo). Food was very good, not too expensive with a good cheese chariot. We were lucky to be eating outside so we cannot comment on the dining room. The patron seems to be everywhere and is extremely welcoming and helpful. We popped into Guy Forez for some champagne about 100m away. NIce secluded pool.

The hotel is beautifully presented and food excellent. We booked the 'Champagne pour tout le monde' package and the two dinners included some of the best food we've tasted (including Raymond Blanc's at the Manoir). Pool's a bonus in good weather. For an elegant hotel in a beautiful area Le Magny is hard to beat.Agree with previous reviewer about the waitress's attitude and do ask for a room facing the garden and not at the back of the hotel as the road can be noisy.
