Trip Advisor can sometimes drive me mad, they denied knowing about the Cartwright Hotel but it appears on th websight !. Anyway, here goes:
I had not been to Aynho for 60 years !, what was the Pub in this incredibly attractive village near Banbury is now a Hotel with a recommended restaurant so I decided to try it.
I am sure the building has been extended since the 1950s and done very well, the bar and dining room are attracive, after a pre-lunch drink we were offered a table overlooking the former stable yard, the menu and wine list were appealing. Chosing Chicken Liver Parfait for startes it was accompanied with salad and an Aprecot puree ( explaing why Aynho is called the 'Apricot Village' would take too long ). For Main course we chose Sea Bass and Chicken Breast. Helpings were generous and the food well prepared. An Australian Boomerang Bay was light enough to go with both dishes.
Too full for pudding we had coffees. In all, a good lunch on a beautiful sunny June Day.More
