I have just been to stay at the Cartwright for a weekend away with friends. The rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable. We had booked a deal that included a meal from the a la cart menu on Friday and standard menu on Saturday. The food on both nights was superb and I cannot fault it. We also had an excellent breakfast each morning which set us up for the whole day. We spent a lovely day in the snow and sleet in Oxford taking advantage of the park and ride and the offer from the hotel of a ticket for the open top tour bus around the city. We were then able to defrost in the comfort of the bar in front a beautiful warm log burner. All of the staff were extremely friendly, attentive and helpful. I would not hesitate to thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Have just spent a fantastic weekend away here. Despite the bad weather we could not fault our stay . The food was of a superb standard served by very friendly competent staff. The rooms were very comfortable clean and cosy.Special thanks to every one who worked there, nothing was too much trouble and all were of a very friendly disposition and dealt with our stay in a professional manner of the highest standard. I would recommend this to any one who enjoys fine dining of an excellent value and wants a weekend away to unwind and relax

Spent a couple of days here and have to say the food was excellent. Room was spacious and clean and all staff very attentive. Ideal location to visit nearby Oxford and Bletchley Park.

The local town in picturesque and the nearby Oxford Canal with its super Great Western Pub a super location.

Have just had a weekend at the Cartwright Hotel. The accommodation and the food was excellent, especially from the A-la carte menu. Nice room with en-suite, clean and the bed was very comfortable. Good choice for breakfast and the full English sets you up for the day. This is a nice hotel if you want a quiet break, not too far away from Oxford. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Only slight problem is the parking, if you get there at a lunch time you may have to find somewhere nearby to park and move the car later. All in all a very nice place to stay and would certainly go back again.

We did not stay at the hotel but chose the restaurant for lunch recently.

We are not local to the area and our party included a relative from Canada who was staying nearby. We had noticed the hotel in the past and then checked it out on the net before going.

The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Our cousin wanted to drink a "moccachino" which was not on the drinks menu but the staff were happy to create this for him.

We chose the set menu 2 course lunch - we all had baked cod which was delicious, followed by a variety of yummy desserts. The courses are cooked to order which involved a wait, but it was worth it. The bar and restaurant were both lovely and warm on a cold wet day and we had more coffee in the bar after the meal spending a long time talking about family stuff - we were not chased away!

I am so pleased we chose this venue for our reunion - it was worth the long journey. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

We did not stay at the hotel, so can not comment on the quality of the rooms. We had booked for Mothering Sunday. We arrived early and went to the Bar for some drinks. The staff were all extremly superb, ideal balance between professional and friendly. We were taken to our table 30 min before our booked time. The table had some olives and some fresh bread laid out ready for us. The starter arrive very soon after we sat down and was amazing. The main was just a quick and equally as amazing. Before our dessert we were ask if we would like a break or if we would like it straight away. At the end of the meal mothers were presented with a lovely present bag.
Would I go back...of course I would.
Would I recommend it...already done.

We stayed in the Cartwright on the Travelzoo deal and had a great time. The room (number 9) was spacious, clean and the bathroom was nice and clean too. All the staff were really friendly and happy to chat with us. The manager Paul was really helpful. The food was excellent with a nice choice for both dinners included in the deal. As a part of our deal we received tickets to visit Warwick Castle which is certainly worth the drive up and we also drove to Stratford on the way back to the hotel.
One thing I would say is that the hotel is great if you are looking for a nice quiet break from it all. If you are looking for a lively place where you can perhaps go out after dinner maybe consider going somewhere else. This was however perfect for us and exactly what we were looking for.
All in all great experience, pleasant ambiance and excellent staff. Thank you.
