We visited the place last week and I must say its a great place to Camp. The temperature was awesome and the entire feel of Camping was very exciting. Before I begin writing about the Overall experience, one should remember that the whole objective of this site was for Camping and not make Hotel stay. Which sets the baseline that, things would be rough over there.
Once you land with this mindshare over there, everything would be sailing smooth for you. The tents are Clean since the hosts have a strict No to shoes. There are various sizes of tents depending on the number of guests arriving at the site. You would feel eating at the night because the ambience becomes great with music, bonfire, drinks and group members. Of course there won't be any 3 course and 5 course meals cause it's a camping site.
Since we went in jan the rapids in the rafting didn't have much force! but again I would say its great for people doing it first time! or if you just want to enjoy the weather along with Rafting having a leisurely swim while the rivers flows down after the rafting is done.
The hosts are really helpful and all that they expect in return is the visitors maintain some time discipline cause they can then plan snacks, food, activities accordingly for everyone.

The food was good, the rafting was gr8, the hosts were good to talk and interact and helpful....

However, the hosts have not managed the campsite well, which was much below expectations. I think they dont have the basic management skills or man power to manage / maintain the campsite.

They could have managed to maintain a small lawn at the campsite. We found it to be dry and not a good looking site at all. May be they depend only on monsoons for the maintaining the greenery. Dry grass and dead shrubs all over when we went in December 2013....

The tables near our tent were very very dirty, and the common area of washroom was also not clean (there was a small beehive in the toilet - v scary). The hammocks were broken and too low.....The Hosts don't know how to manage a 25 ppl crowd or may be there were too many guests on the day before and they didnt get time to prepare enough for our stay.
Campfire was only started after 12.00 midnight!!

In all a not so great place and would not recommend to others except if you are visiting during the monsoons.

However, the cool pleasant weather and with the help of some card games and the gr8 food and drinks, we could have a great time (ignoring the bad facilities). May be during monsoons this campsite will be better, and we may try it again.

Ugly humiliating experience - The rafting was delayed by an hour and half (from 8 am to 9.30 am) and since we were short of time and one of us had to catch a flight back to Hyderabad in the evening, we gently requested Ms Sarita (the hostess) if she could cancel our rafting booking. However, she did not have the courtesy to decline the last minute cancellation request in private and politely. Instead she kinda shouted loudly at us in front of every one (including other groups who were there) saying that "you can be so wishy washy and you can not cancel the request last minute". She could have declined the cancellation request in private explaining her position. We were quite embarrassed and felt humiliated in front of all with that part of the behaviour of Ms Sarita.

However, otherwise overall she was quite polite and helpful.

Room Tip: Go only in Monsoons. If you going in a bigger group, ask how many tents will you get ...otherwise th...

Beautiful river side camp site, excellent, extrovert hosts, absolutely pet friendly. The Kundalika rafting is a must have experience, even for the first timers and the hosts make everything easy. Ask before leaving if you are going to be pitching at the regular camp site or stay with the owner hosts and pack accordingly. We overpacked.

And yes, expect to have no cellular network, although the hosts' house has electricity if you want to charge your devices.

Kolad is one of the beatiful destinations in Maharashta. White water rafting is also a great experience and a must do thing. Facilities service hospitality at Big Red Tent is great and hygiene levels are also maintained.
