Having read some bad reviews about The Old Bakehouse, it was with some trepidation that we decided to eat here, on the first night of our 4 night stay in the villiage. The plan was to eat here for the first night, and then go elsewhere, once we'd had a chance to look around.
HOWEVER, the food and service were SOOOO good here, that we chose to eat here every night of our stay. Each night we had something different, and each night we weren't disappointed. The food was excellent, Tues/Weds nights are Surf and Turf nights, with 2 steaks, or 2 fish and chips, or 1 of each plus a bottle of wine, all for £22.50. Thurs was Curry night, and Friday Fish night, but the normal menu was also available every night.
Every night it was busy, with the staff working really hard.
My husband and I couldn't fault anything about The Old Bakehouse, but a word of warning, to be sure of getting a table, then you do need to book.
