This is well worth a visit - but you need a nice calm day to get the best out this. For us the ocean was perfect and its really eerie to be snorkelling among the cannons and various detritus left by the US. There was lots of fish around as well which made it more fun and I would highly recommend a visit here when on Santo Island.

Just go here in a car or taxi, take your snorkel gear shouldn't take more than 2 hours. Well worth it.

You pay to swim at many beaches on Santo but it's not a huge expense. We snorkelled here 3 times during our stay as it's such an interesting place with an even more interesting history. There is a new toilet block and fresh water shower. Our kids loved exploring the World War II equipment dumped in the ocean.

fabulous snorkeling, amazing to see all this war time equipment that was just dumped in the channel by the Americans who were stationed there in the war. i was a bit torn in wondering whether if the big earth moving equipment was left for them, then what would Santo be like now. The Ni-Vans are considered one of the happiest people on earth....using an index partly based on the eco foot print you leave on the land.

Very eerie place - this is where the Americans dumped 1 million dollars worth of equipment after WW1 - what a waste. There were coke bottles inside the coral and some of the parts from the tanks and trucks could been seen quite clearly.
