The caravan park was a paddock and the kitchen facilities were a joke, a bad joke. The toilets and showers were great but quite a hike from the caravan park. Not much better than staying beside the road.

Stayed in the caravan park. Very small spaces. Very crowded, It was 35C degrees outside and my air conditioner kept blowing the breaker. Normally wouldn't recommend it, but it is off the highway and a safer alternative in this general area.

Room Tip: Try to stop early so you have a better chance at picking a good site. Bring your own water because...

After our filthy night at Renner Springs, this was a lovely place to stay. Staff friendly and helpful. Room was spotlessly clean, large and comfortable. $110.00 was worth the stay. Only complaint, no chairs in the room.

I stayed for three nights recently at the Traveller's Rest. Marla really is a long way from anywhere and so expectations weren't high. I was pleasantly surprised by the deluxe room...quiet, spacious and clean. There was an unpleasant odour but it cleared when I aired the room out each night. The bathroom had been partly updated and there was plenty of hot water.
The bed was too soft for me and there were some strange wooden structures in the room. The provision of one plastic chair in front of the TV was strange, especially since it was a room for four!
The biggest warning I have is about he food. It is very much a roadhouse. If you are a vegetarian you will be in big trouble! Salads and veggies are limited and depend on the night. One night there was a salad bar, the next a tiny plate of salad. Fried food is the order of the day!
Most staff were pleasant.

After a 500 km drive from Uluru Marla was a delightful sight. We had a powered site & also connected to the few taps available. Staff were friendly at the on site supermarket, restaurant & tavern. A very quiet stay. Amenities dated but clean, with excellent water pressure in thd showers. Highly recommend staying here. A bonus was the stunning sunset!

Stayed here when travelling for work. Staff very friendly and helpful. Facilities basic, but functional and clean but tired. The bonus is 3g network, internet and Foxtel, which are very useful when on the road.

Room Tip: Ask for a superior room to get Foxtel.

Leaving Ayers Rock and heading back into South Australia a comfortable 500km day drive lands you at Marla. The rooms are fine for a one night stop over to rest and freshen up. Bathroom was spot on with a large shower and great hot water pressure. Caravan sites are fine too and the bathroom amenities whilst a little tired are all good.
