i had read that Harbour Lights had won an award for their food ,and so with my family ,was keen to see what all the fuss was about , we weren't disappointed
keep it simple and do it well, what every cafe/bistro should strive to achieve . Harbour Lights does it very well, the food here is superb , extremely tasty and fresh . great location overlooking the bay at Coverack . staff friendly and efficient , but we were visiting in November so i would imagine in the peak of summer it gets very busy
we paid £40 for four meals + drinks + cakes to take away- for a family of four , it may be a bit more expensive, but it certainly wasn't over the top and it was well worth the extra money

don't miss this gem

We took a stroll with our dogs to Coverack for a paddle in the sea and fortunately walked a way round the harbour and spotted this lovely little bistro just in time for lunch.

We were able to sit outside on the terrace with our dogs and ordered the crab salad which was delightful. Service was a little slow but relaxed and we were able to occupy the table for some time.

Take away cream teas were a lovely treat when we got back to our holiday cottage.

This cafe won Best Beach Cafe 2012. Are they sitting on their laurels? We had 2 bowls of sea-food stew with new potatoes. Rephrase that to read potato stew with sea-food. However it was tasty, if a bit meagre. My husband then opted for 'apple and plum crumble', coming in at £4.80 a portion. WHAT a rip-off!! Any resemblance to apple and plum crumble had vanished long ago. It was a square mat - obviously en route to the bin when we arrived. Crumble? What crumble? Dried out postage stamp more like! We WON'T be coming back.

What an absolute delight when we stumbled into this lovely little sea front Bistro for a cream tea without any prior knowledge. Lovely harbour setting and very nice friendly staff plus we had the best cream tea whilst taking in the lovely sea view in this pretty little fishing village. This charming sea front bistro has deservedly won an award this year. It was not too busy in September but I understand it gets a bit hectic in high season. The lunch time and evening menu looked very scrummy & highly affordable but sadly we were not able to stay but it looked well worth a longer more leisurely visit. Highly recommended

We ate at the Harbour Lights a few times during our short stay in Coverack, either evening meals or light lunch. The food is excellent and the service friendly. Highly recommended.
