“Hidden little gem”
Reviewed December 19, 2013

Fantastic little Pub we found by driving around, truly is a gem right beside the canal, nice cosy fire inside, and friendly staff to help too. we had the Steak and ale pie, which was absolutely delicious though the pastry could be a little less hard. and my friend had the pork belly with crackling portion sizes were good we were both stuffed. reasonably priced.

“good food choice of ale could be better”
Reviewed December 7, 2013

Visited the Globe twice in a couple of days with various members of the family. First time Friday lunch, ate off the value menu which I thought might be small portions, far from it, massive fish and chips, good halloumi bruschetta, all round good meal.
One criticism they had 5 hand pulled ales all bitter or dark, no golden or pale (they had Greene King IPA, but it's not really pale),better choice would be good.
Ate again on Saturday evening again the food was very good, a good value pub with good food and very clean toilets.
Would be a very nice place to moor and visit in the summer months.

“I'd rather go hungry!”
Reviewed November 26, 2013

Without a doubt - the worst experience ever. Barman quite clearly thinks he knows everything, obviously not as his attempts at showing off his poor wine knowledge was an absolute car crash. He was rude and obnoxious - which after meeting the manageress it's hardly surprising. She was so rude to us as paying guests I will never step inside that pub again. Food was dreadful but customers are not allowed an opinion. I was critisesed for complaining. Customers always right apart from at The Globe. Language coming from the kitchen is a disgrace. Foul mouthed and absolutely shameful. The poor waitresses in the restaurant were spoken to like dirt by the manager, no job is better than the abuse she received. Someone needs to sort this disaster out.

“A NIGHT TO REMEMBER!!!”
Reviewed November 18, 2013

Went to the Globe Inn on 15th November ,it was our wedding anniversary. It was a night I will never forget IT WAS THE WORST FOOD I HAVE TASTED IN 50 YEARS OF EATING OUT!!!!
My sirloin steak was either that old or had been defrosted. It was as tough as old boots and unchewable, the chips I had with it(oven chips) were virtually raw and soggy..Worse was to come the old fashioned rice pudding was diabolical, another insult was having to pay £2.89 for six little onion rings. The waitress did offer to change the food but I had seen enough. MARKS OUT OF TEN NIL!!
