This canal-side pub is a pleasure to visit in any weather. On a sunny day it is a delight to sit out the front overlooking the canal and passing parade of walkers and canal boats. On a cold or inclement weather day inside is snug and comfortable, with a beautiful historic traditional pub interior. Staff are friendly,as are the regulars and boaters alike. Service is very good and the menu choice commendable. There is an exceptionally generous "seniors menu" offering smaller plates similar to the main menu for very reasonable prices. The quality of the food is decent "pub-grub". We have visited the globe three times in 2011 and twice again in May 2013.

Staff friendly, efficient and attentive. Food well prepared, hot, Extremely well supported, there is a need to pre-book on special weekends. Atmosphere inside and out relaxed and friendly. you won't be disappointed. Access can be difficult with large vehicle.

Not impressed - we visited last weekend with two friends and paid £18.90 for two glasses of wine and two pints. Prices were not displayed prominenetly although have to admit they were in the menu but who checks that when buying a drink. This place is trading purely off its location and there are plenty of cheaper alternatives in the area.

We stopped here on our way back to Linslade prior to dropping off our canal boat. Moorings are just outside. Had to sit outside as still very busy even in mid to late afternoon on a Bank Holiday. Good menu, although food coming to our table was out of sync and some of our party were only just getting meals when others had finished. Would return at a quieter time...

Booked a table in the restaurant for Bank holiday Monday lunch for 2.30 (as I thought the rush might be over). Took my wife and my Mother. Yes, it was sunny and yes the placed was packed, but even so the service was not as good as it could have been. Apparently there was a 90 minute wait for food outside, but it wasn't quite as long for us in the restaurant, but it wasn't much shorter. The burger sharer starter wasn't as described on the menu - they were supposed to be a selection but they were all the same. The egg on the gammon looked very much like pineapple, but as we had to wait, we decided not to complain. It was all a bit of a shame because actually the meal was resonable value for money. They staff need to be better organised though - it's a canalside pub / restauarant, it's going to get busy.
