Had booked a table for 12 for the start of our family holiday at end of July. Reservation was accepted however a couple of weeks later I was sent an email advising me that the restaurant was changing format & menu for the summer (pizza, pasta & salad) and would not be accepting reservations. They did however send me details of their sister restaurant (2nd row) Universal Cafe and its menu a few days later. Don't bother looking at the website for this restaurant as it is still advertising the old menu. Such a shame I was really looking forward to trying here.

I am writing this review on behalf of my wife who booked this restaurant for a special occasion for table of nine people on a Friday night in late June. Following the excellent reviews on Tripadvisor, a booking was made several weeks in advance to ensure that they dined at a well recommended establishment. A confirmation email was received and needless to say all were excited at the prospect of a fantastic evening. Can you imagine the disappointment when they arrived to find the restaurant closed with no notification. My wife was accutely embarrassed having made such a strong recommendation but the embarrassment turned to anger the next day when they passed and found it was open on the lunchtime. Enquiries were made of a member of staff who advised that they were not opening in the evenings for the foreseeable future because they were "changing the menus"!

Clearly this had also happened previously to other customers and the member of staff said it was the owners who were letting him down! We all know that it takes time to build a reputation and it takes just minutes to destroy it! I hope that the "owners" take note and it would be rather nice for them to issue and unreserved apology via Tripadvisor in order redress this unacceptable situation.

Visited following good reviews on here but was very disappointed. Location is good nice open patio area 2 streets back from the harbour. On Friday night was very surprised to find we were the only customers, which should have been a warning.
Our waiter was very friendly engaging but seemed he was being let down by the kitchen.
Given we were the only customers was somewhat surprised to be told they had run out of Iberian ham, given it was one of 4 starters on the menu it didn't bode well. We ordered duck rolls and calamari to start calamari was good an interesting twist on the norm, fresh and tasty. Duck rolls were burnt, no way should they have been brought to the table, amazing.
Main courses, Butter Fish with salmon ice cream, was OK, not brilliant but OK. Rack of lamb, great size portion, but totally over cooked, yes I should have ordered pink but in retrospect shouldn't the waiter have asked? We also had a steak sharing dish, which was totally acceptable. We ordered one dessert, 'chocolate garden' least said the better!
Total bill€260 with 2 bottles of red wine was expensive.
Free cocktails at the end was a nice touch, but sadly not enough to be taking me back.

This restaurant was quiet in May but the food was fantastic. Much better value and better food than many of the restaurants on the marina so worth coming to find this restaurant. The food has a bit of a fine dining feel to it and the staff are very friendly.
