This is one of the best ESL lodges !! Breakfast was served in a library/lounge and service was superb. The rooms are rather dark but beds are comfortable with a good working shower.

There was no electric blankets so I was given a hot water bottle. I believe this is a newer lodge.

My lodge was booked by Himalaya Expeditions after completion of the Everest Marathon 2013,

Stayed here for 2 nights on the way up, and 2 more nights on the way down. Service excellent, food terrific (way too much, but that's our fault for eating it all!) and location wonderful. Rooms are on the small side, and a little dark, but the electric blankets are very welcoming. There is a large balcony on the 1st floor of the accommodation block, and this was a great place to sit, catch up with the diary, drink tea/coffee (which they brought for us without asking) or just take in the views down the valley.

This place has small, dark rooms, very average and very expensive food ($22 for dinner which is a no choice, high carb affair), staff who do not engage to any extent. Across the path a new Yeti has opened which is miles nicer and at $150 for dinner, bed and breakfast, miles better value. The rooms and bathroom are incomparably nicer.

Room Tip: ask for a family room - they are much bigger and nicer

I spent two nights at the Everest Summit lodge in Monjo on my recent Gokyo Lakes trek. I was very happy with the lodge, the rooms were clean and spacious (the electric blankets appreciated) and the food was very good. The service was excellent, including a piece of coffee cake in the afternoon and an endless supply of tea. The location of the lodge is very quiet, a bit above the main trail, with good views of Kongde and Thamserku.

Stayed here twice during our recent trip to Nepal - once on the way up the valley from Lukla and once on the way back. Both times our room was excellent - the electric blanket was very welcome. The hot shower and western style toilet were great and the buffet-style food was very good (even for a vegetarian). The little covered balcony was a great place to relax with a book after the treking.
