Really nice and comfortable luxury hotel at altitude of 3880 mtrs.
A nice change after trying trek and cold weather. Rooms are good and comfortable, food is very good, service is excellent. The hot water bottle provided in bed was amazingly hot and comfortable for the whole night. The only drawback is hot shower is in common area , which is not expected in such a hotel.
The view from this hotel as the name suggest is is undoubtedly remarkable , you can see all the complete range ( Evrest , Aba dablam , lohatsue, and more )provided the weather is clear and good .

It is great to hear that you enjoyed our services and had a comfortable stay at HEV. We are working towards making hot showers available in all the rooms, thank you very much for staying with us and we hope to see you again in the future.

Make sure you get up when the sky is clear, the view is stunning. Amadablam, Everest, Lhotse - all the beauties in the same view.
Have a cup of tea and a cheese omelette, enjoy the moment away from home.

The setting and view are stunning - 360 views of the Khumbu Valley (don't miss the sun room and roof patio). Staff are helpful and efficient, the restaurant is quite good, especially the Japanese set meal. Nice warm fire in the large, central fireplace in the dining room, around which guests gather before dinner. The room was spacious with a nice sitting area, and room-service tea arrived within minutes.

But - the fireplace is the only place in the hotel to get warm. When we arrived the manager made a point of saying they'd turn the heat on from 10 pm to 3 am (thought it would be better from 7-10 pm, so one could get into bed warm) but I woke up both nights (altitude will do that) and the radiator was as frigid at 1 am and 3 am as during the mornings and evenings. It didn't seem to be due to lack of fuel, as the hallway smelled strongly of kerosene both afternoons.

After 3 days of trekking and staying in basic lodges, we were looking forward to a stay in a high-end place with a nice hot shower. But the bath had only a tiny, under-powered flash heater, and a cheap, ancient shower head. We took quick showers, but it was uncomfortable to say the least. Lodges along the entire valley have effective solar water heaters - we finally had a comfortable shower the day after HEV at a simple lodge.

In sum, this is a spectacular property in one of the best locations in the world, but physically the hotel is tired, outdated, and not what I expected for a top-end place. With a bit of investment and care, it could be a truly special place to match the truly special location.

Room Tip: Rooms on the stairwell (7 & 8 at least) have windows on both the north and east sides

Thank you very much for your feedback. We have the room heaters turned off from 10pm - 3am (they are on for the rest of the time) to try to ensure that the room does not become too dry while sleeping. We used to have the heaters on all night many years ago but noticed that this sometimes lead to guests not feeling well and having difficulty breathing, which is why we have now taken this approach.

We apologize in regards to the shower in the rooms, we do have solar powered shower rooms near the lobby which is more comfortable and we have a hair dryer available there as well. The hotel was built to showcase the beautiful views with the large windows, hand cut stones and high ceilings but I do agree with you that we need to work towards making the accommodation more up to date. It is our goal to make proper investment in the facilities this year as it is also my personal goal to work towards having the comforts of Hotel Everest View be in line with the magnificent scenery.

I have never and will probably never again stay in a hotel that will steal my heart like HEV has!

The views are out of this world and it's impossible to get used to the amazing surrounding beauty.

The staff is so accommodating and so lovely. Nepalese people have a reputation for being very friendly and welcoming and you'll understand why after staying here.

The food is also delicious which I really didn't expect at 3880m high! Strangely enough, you can have some amazing Japanese food while looking out on Mt Everest.

My friends and I trekked for 3 days from Lukla to reach the hotel and I would highly recommend doing this as it's a great way to see the area but you also get an amazing feeling of achievement once you finally see the hotel.

The rooms were beautifully laid out and the electric blanket ensured that we all had a good night sleep. After sleeping in freezing and very basic lodges, HEV felt like pure luxury and that's because it is!

In one word, GO!! Go to Nepal, Go to HEV and have a once in a lifetime experience that you will never forget!

The Hotel Everest View must be the hotel with the most amazing and awesome view in the world.

On a clear day the views of the Everest and Lhotse are just priceless. Located at nearly 4000 meter above sea level the hotel is mostly visited by well-off, fortunate tourists who can afford to rent a helicopter for a few hours.

Sure, the hotel is not luxurious and is hardly heated. And yes, the food is not overly good ... but the view makes up for everything!!!!

Thank you very much for appreciating the magnificent view at HEV. Yes the hotel is a popular breakfast destination after a helicopter mountain flight, although we do have many clients who trek to the hotel as well. I hope you were able to take lots of wonderful pictures with the view!
