Deer park on Dow Hill was on the cards but locals didn't seem very excited about the place. Unable to understand the reason decided to try it out myself. The approach road was highly narrow and winding with huge craters here and there. Absence of any locators or signs was a major problem. After many a tense bend managed to reach Deer Park only to find that the animals would not be visible because of construction work going on since long. The token entry fee of Rs.2/- allowed us into a well maintained park which was no consolation for the animals. The nearby museum too was closed on account of Bhai Tika and Diwali. Students of residential schools in the vicinity frequent the place and we met quite a few of them having a gala time. Dow Hill is a great place to visit unless you have a car tyre puncture. The altitude may also pose a problem for those with altitude sickness.
