“Majuli in the midst of nowhere.”
Reviewed December 26, 2013

this satra is one of the oldest satra following Vaishnavite tradition. In this times when Majuli is in danger of bieng lost away due to flood it hurts to see nothing done to save this Island from perishing forever. UNESCO is about to declare it as a world heritage site, its a place to visit so as to have an experience of lifetime the serenity and tranquil nature will let you fall in love with it.

“OK KIND”
Reviewed January 21, 2013

Majuli in assam
one and only one in the world, river island (Brahmputra's)
usually cuts off from rest of the India/World due to heavy floods
this island/village is of area 55sqKM is untouched beauty.
the People ,what we called them as tribals are very simple/helpful.
Long Bamboos trees, are common sight, there daily corous remained making some canned (bamboo) things.
Here, in north east Sun comes early and sets early also
Around 4.30 AM to 5.00 PM, there's a life.
Electricity is there but roads, streets, modes of comm'n are poor.
A Place FAmous for Old satras (temples) and natural beauty.
so we spend most of the time in the nature.
Hours and Hours bird watching,However, we do not have any particular interest in bird watching. but birds sound(music) catches u up. we wish could stay more,we stayed only for a day.
if u r with families with small kids not more than 1 night stay.
as there no good hotels and restuarants. But, But if u want to play in pure nature,
(without traffic and heavy industries) and enjoy north east tribal life (simple)
than u had to visit Majuli.
We almost found negligible facilities for tourists but only GOD facilities are in bounty.
