Great stop off between Kruger & the Indian Ocean. Was good to have the GPS as it's some distance off the main highway...traveling a dirt road over several miles pasture & cattle, we nearly turned around, but a sign popped up to encourage us..." keep going, it will be worth the drive" or something to that effect...it worked...we kept going! What a pleasant oasis when we arrived before sunset. The rooms are rustic deluxe with so many nice touches. The dining was superb, with the daughters helping to serve the multi course dinner. Breakfast was equally delightful...& plentiful....Johan runs the ranch & his wife runs the B&B with help of the 2 daughters. The bacon comes direct from their own stock & is something I still talk about. Would definitely recommend it for a multiple night stay.

Room Tip: They are all excellent!

We spent a night (early May 2012) in this B&B. We had a wonderful time. Our "chalet" was four star PLUS. The diner was great and even the breakfast was superb. We had a wonderful time.
By the way: you can speak English, Afrikaans and German.
Strongly recommended.

We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it. No sooner had we arrived than our 4 year old was whisked away to collect eggs and 'help' with milking - he came back in his element telling us all about the animals and giving us a tour of the farm! Our accomdation was super with two bedrooms one for us and one for our son. The breakfast was outstanding and we were only sorry to miss dinner - we picked the one weekend in the month that the owners take off to have for themsleves! We had a lovely walk through the beautiful gardens and truely relaxed before moving on. Don't miss the opportunity to visit if you are passing this way.

We stayed at Dusk to Dawn for 2 nights on our way North from Hluhluwe to Kruger. Make sure you spend some extra time here; a chance to enjoy the most excellent culinary delights, beautiful property, facilities and working farm. If you can, please ask Johann to take you to the battlefields. The family has a great history to share and you come away understanding so much more about the Zulu wars. It is rare to come across such attention to detail and such care in giving the guests that extra special feeling. Thank you. Mark and Lynne (Wolverhampton, UK)

Room Tip: We stayed in Barbets Cottage; it was the highest quality suite of rooms, but we suspect probably typ...

We stopped at Dusk to Dawn on an overnight stay from Kosi Bay to Johannesburg. We were pleasantly surprised as it was much more than we had expected. Unfortunately it was raining the entire time that we were there so we did not get to enjoy any of the activities. We would definitely recommend Dusk to Dawn to anyone, especially is you are travelling with children.

We stopped here for 2 nights on a trip from St. Lucia to Johannesburg. The accommodation is comfortable and tastefully decorated. The bathroom was particularly luxurious with an enormous bath and there was very thoughtful details - candles, chocolates on the pillows and a fireplace ready to be lit. We took a self catering cottage but there was no need, the food was superb and reasonably priced. Johan and Gudren went out of their way to serve us at our cottage because our baby was asleep and we couldn't go to the main dining room. Breakfast was delicious with pork and eggs fresh from the farm. Excellent area for checking out farm animals as well as farm walks and a lovely craft shop.

We stayed here to break the journey between Nelspruit (Kruger Park) and Natal, principally on the recommendation of other Tripadvisor users, and we were not disappointed. It is an excellent guesthouse and very, very well appointed, far more so than you would expect from an overnight B&B. This is a place where you could spend a week living in your room - sorry suite is a better term - in perfect peace. Indeed, many guests use it as a base for painting holidays or for touring Swaziland. Gudrun's cooking is excellent and Johan is a great host (he also runs battlefield tours I found out). You'll be sorry to only stay one night at this B&B. Final comment - my 16 year old son enjoyed it, and Gudrun's cooking, so much, he wants to stay again. Rare praise indeed.
