“Overpriced for what you get..........”
Reviewed November 4, 2012

This establishment is rated 4 star with the SA Tourism Grading Council. My husband and I stayed the one night whilst attending a wedding in the area in November 2012. Although set in a lovely location I found this establishment to be living on past glories. The public areas were fine but the bedroom we were allocated was dated and shabby, with grubby linen. I was extremely disappointed and will not be so confident in the Grading Councils ratings in future I would rate this establishment a 2 star.

You will leave N3 and hit the Nottingham Rd. direction to Curry´s Post. After 1,5 km You´ll find the index to Thatchings and the entrance on the right side. You enter the property via an automatic gate and You follow the neat private road and cruise between an lot of flowers and bushes. Everything is taken care of. The garden is absolutely closed to perfect. Trevor & Susan Read welcome You and give You the kind of private and very cosy feeling. There are different houses, some spacious for multiple guests some for 2 guests. All beds are good in size and comfort. The bathrooms fit good standards and You will find anything You need.
In the main house You enjoy a living room and a terrace with a gorgeous view over the Property what is something else. Trevor and Susan will cook for You and You really should go for it! Excellent meat dishes and fabulous vines.
The prices are decent and You will not regret a minute of Your stay.

Room Tip: You should look at the rooms before but all are decent.

Large well equipped rooms. Friendly hosts who provided good meals in a pleasant dining room. The weather wasn't good during our stay so it was slightly difficult negotiating our way to the dining room over steps etc in the rain!!
An excellent base for exploring all the crafts available in the Midlands Meander. Beautiful gardens with lovely visiting zebra!
