“Excellent B and B”
Reviewed July 1, 2012

Little Quintain was the first B and B my husband and I stayed at during our 5 week motoring holiday of England and it set a very high standard for those that followed. Mike and Shirley are gracious and charming hosts and made us feel very welcome and comfortable during our 3 night stay. The B and B is situated in the quiet little village of Offham and we used it as a base to visit places further afield such as Canterbury, Sandwich, Dover, Brighton and there was much more to see had we been able to stay longer. It was wonderful to be able to return to the peace and quiet of Little Quintain each evening.
The rooms are beautifully appointed, comfortable and sparkling clean. Shirley serves delicious breakfasts offering many choices and serves it in her lovely dining room. Mike offers helpful advice on places to visit in the area and we enjoyed our conversations with Mike and Shirley over a cup of coffee.
One evening we visited the local pub, just a short walk away, which offered a warm welcome and good pub food. We highly recommend this excellent B and B.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent.

If you are looking for a bland, impersonal place to stay then don't go to Little Quintain.

However, if you want a lovely, out of the way place with engaging hosts, great breakfast and a warm, friendly atmosphere then you need to stay here!!

Shirley and Mike have a beautiful house and are willing to share it with those of us lucky enough to find it.

Within staggering distance of the local pub if that is what you require, alternativley there is a good choice of places to eat in West Malling and we can heartily recommend Pad Thai if you like Thai food ;)

Only 20 minutes from Brands Hatch.

Will be booking up for later in the year.

I can't really say more than others have - wonderful clean room, fantastic breakfasts, absolutely remarkable hosts. We spent 15 days in England, and this was by far our favorite place we stayed! We would love to stay there again.

We couldn't agree more with all the other reviews. Shirley and Mike are wonderful people. They are so welcoming and warm people, they made us feel at home (shouldn't forget to mention the enthusiastic welcome of Tillie and Jack). We had a luxurious breakfast with a long and nice chat. The room is very large with a comfortable bed, a good and well supplied bathroom with a good shower. We had diner in a town nearby, West Malling, a short drive by car (which you do need).
We left this B&B with a warm and happy feeling and will certainly visit them again.

We spent four nights with Mike and Shirley at "Little Quintain" in the village of Offham. First of all, the biggest attraction here is Mike and Shirley themselves. They are incredibly friendly and helpful and gregarious people. And Shirley presents a spectacular breakfast that is good for the soul, if not exactly kind to the waistline. But, hey, you're on holiday, right?!? The accommodation itself is large, very comfortable and has the best shower in England. There is a friendly local pub close by, but you will need a car to get to anywhere else. The village is a joy, as is the surrounding countryside.........Oh, and don't let me forget the ever enthusiastic welcoming party........Jack and Millie.........two dogs, large and small and both friendly, especially if you like to scratch their bellies.

Room Tip: One Queen bed / one twin bedded room equal size

Stayed with Shirley and Mike for one night only (worse luck) on our way to Ypres and Tyne Cot cemetery. Shirley, all smiles, came out to greet us and open the gate, after five hours hard riding on our motorbikes, it was wonderful. We were all invited into their lounge to meet Mike and drink a very welcome cup of tea, Mike and I had a very interesting chat about first world war, he also lent me a wonderful book to read on the subject. The rooms are large and incredibly comfortable, the ensuite outstanding, like something plucked out of a Homes and Gardens magazine. Breakfast was delicious, served in a beautiful setting and we got to meet the two friendly doggies. The large gardens have several species of birds arriving all the time, fascinating to watch. Thankyou so much Mike and Shirley for sharing your home with us, you are two very rare people in today's world. Ann Chris Tony and Casey.
